A little hot for me but otherwise rich and rewarding. Reminded me more of an Aussie style cabernet than Napa. ~$30-40 value

The initial flavor is mild and pleasant, but the finish comes after 2-3 seconds and it's a bit foul and barnyard, in the way of a bad french wine, not a good one. Disappointing.

Very nice modern napa cab. A little more depth would have been even better, but still excellent.

Everything it should be. Reminded me of a Lewis Cab I had a few years back. Best wine of this style I've had in a while.

How do you make a wine with so little tannins, and one that loses them in the bottle at this rate? Weird, and sadly not very good any more. It wasn't great before. Now reminds me of very sweet tomato juice without the tang. Sad.

Not special, but well worth the price ($13) for a daily drinking red from Napa.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. It smells like red currant, raspberry and cranberry. It tastes of cranberry and a bit too tart for a Norcal cab. The body is full. The wine has narrow texture. The wine finishes short.

Tart and thin. Drinks like a $10 wine.

California version of a southern Rhone style red. Still not especially heavy.

Had at Fig - Charleston, with suckling pig and Amber Jack. PNP - nose was clearly of a Napa cab, but the flavor was initially muted. Opened a lot over two hours and was drinking much better, with the dark fruit and cocoa dust coming out a lot more.

surprisingly light in color - almost ruby. Big, but relatively balanced for a jumbo wine.

Slightly fizzy. Maybe CO2 in the bottle? Hopefully, the next will be fine.

Flavor profile had less punch, and more balance coming from this wine region rather then, say, Paso Robles. Relatively more subtle than some other Turley Zins, and even some Carlisles from this area. I liked this one a lot for what it was - a less traditional, less high throttle, less jammy, but still powerful expression of Zin. Reminded me of the Cabs I like from Sonoma, and even more from Napa, but that's probably because I'm used to those.

I haven't had this producer before. A bit more austere than some of the other modern style Malbecs coming from this region, but by no means a small wine. It was nice with NY strip. At $30, it might be a little pricey for what it is, but certainly an enjoyable, powerful red.

I can't tell if this is mediocre or just not ready. Air didn't change it that much. Nor did an overnight in the fridge. For me this is $20 bottle unless things develop in the bottle.

Well balanced and ready to drink. Outshined a surprisingly mediocre dinner at Husk in Charleston. A little bit of the napa "dust" which tempered the dark red fruit and subtle spice.

Beautiful wine. New oak, medium acidity, very full and elegant fruit with a round, non-flabby coating of the tongue. Lingering finish that leaves a full, slightly candied residue on the tongue. Be careful what you pair it with or it will overpower.

Going based on memory two days ago: Purple-inky. Free of sediment. Nose of strawberry jam, nutmeg and stoniness. lot's of dark on the palate - black currant (cassis), blueberry, blackberry and strawberry. Full-bodied. Big round, chewy texture. Medium finish. Medium acidity. Better than I expected. Tasted less like a petite sirah blended with merlot in a good way.

lush; very fruit forward, good structure and characteristics, but the overall fruit flavor not outstanding. There is better at $30, but not a bad value.

What PlaneTX said, and it was good straight out of the bottle - no need for air, although it may have softened slightly over the course of dinner.

Maybe not even worth the $13. I know it's cheap, but I'm a little disappointed that Luna put this out at all. Their other lines are so much better.

How the mighty has fallen. Age has not been kind to this wine. Tastes change, and that might explain part of my perception over the 5 year interval since my last taste. Still, the syrup and artificial boysenberry drown the barely noticeable muscular and balanced wine this once was. Should have drunk it 5 years ago.

Not a bad value. Reminds me of Australian Shiraz - more juicy dark fruit and a little less finesse than what I would expect from a Washington state Cabernet.

Decanted 90 minutes and the initial tartness melted away. The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are fast. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It tastes like toast, oak, vanilla, black currant (cassis) and raspberry. The body is full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Still excellent 5 years later. Similar to previous note from 12/2010.

"Wonderful zin. Balanced with big, explosive dark and bright fruit, and the right amount of alcohol. Went well with schnitzel, and, surprisingly, a tuna steak. The second glass was better than the first. Did not decant, so I suspect that's the air and not the buzz."

You have to like a modern style for this wine, and if you do, there is much to love. The wine is big but balanced, round but not flabby, and although it tastes a tad manipulated to me, the very long candied apple finish was terrific. Careful what you drink it with, or it will overwhelm.

Tastes have changed over the past six years. Now tastes too medicinal. Might be the shift in the wine's flavors themselves, but probably mostly my palate. Will avoid these in the future.

Drinking beautifully. A little more brambly then up north, which I have come to expect in Paso Robles Cabs.

This wine continues to provide the evidence for why giving modern styled wines a good dose of air (in this case a 4 hour decant) can by helpful and sometimes downright necessary.

I'm not a big French wine enthusiast, but this wine is not typical French from my experience. The wine looks inky colored. There is light sediment in the bottle. It tastes like black currant (cassis), light toast, violet and alcohol/hot. The body is full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like fig and strawberry jam. It tastes like butterscotch, smokey bacon, oak and vanilla. The body is full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity. Tastes like a high end Napa Cabernet. Received as a gift from Karen in 2007. Drank with dinner at Fig in Charleston.
