A beautiful Clos Vougeot that is finally reaching Maturity. The bottle was bought on release.

This condition of this bottle is not as good as the last one. Medium body and lighter on the palate than the previous bottles. Still very elegant and complex but the tannin has mostly resolved.

My favorite palmer. The wine has been drinking very well for years and still has no sign of decline. Rich, soft and complex with the right amount of soft tannins. It has everthing I want for a matured claret. The 83 Margaux was drier, less complex and more tannic by comparison.

1990 Château Angélus St. Émilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)

Average bottle condition for the age. Soft, lush, full body with a slight amount of oak that compliment the black fruit. Slightly behind the 1990 Troplong Mondot. Very good Angelus that is at its peak.

A pristine bottle. The wine is still young but ready to drink after decanted for 30 minutes. Nose is subtle and opened up a little after 1 hr. The real show is on the palate. Very rich with enough structure to balance. A good value among the 82s.

Still young and required 2+ hours of decanting. The wine is still firm. Cedary nose, dark and full body. I will try another one in 5 years.

This wine offers little besides the excessive amount of overripe fruit. I doubt the wine will benefit much from additional aging. Disappointing.

Drank it with Amy on Valentine's day with 28 oz. prime rib-eye. Classic St. Julien. Not as rich as the 1990 but more complex. Still have a small amount of unresolved tannin. Good nose and moderate finish. Very enjoyable now but might have been better 3-4 years ago.

Bought from an auction 10 years ago, this bottle is absolutely stunning. I should thank the previous owner for storing the wine for me (40+ years). It is hard to imagine that a wine of this age has so much fruit in it. Totally incredible. And everything else.......Perfect!
