Disagree with recent notes here. This is a classic aged Côte Rôtti in a good drinking phase. Surprisingly youthful. Aeromatics are moderate but on the palate and finish it delivers. Especially the finish. Belle

The curse of a 100 pt wine is expectations. In short, this wine is delicious and memorable. Brought to a restaurant so was not able to decant in advance. Opened up after about 1 hour. Wish I had decanted for several hours.

10/3/21, 11:51 AM - Decanting prior to arriving at the restaurant backfired on me once when they refused to allow a wine that had already been uncorked. This is an obscure rule in some states apparently.

Agree with other notes here. The best spatlese style Riesling I have ever tasted. From the Theise trade tasting in mid-2011 to now, it just gets better. Intensity that hardly seems possible, it explodes on the palate with perfect balance of sugar and acidity. By the way, good Riesling lasts for days in the fridge without degradation so you can easily enjoy this over 2 weeks - I did.
