Solid wine but a bit too much fruit and not my favorite bottling of Saxum (although I think the 2009 is exceptional.) Perhaps it needs more time.

Very intriguing wine with great complexity. Needs a decant and/or air. Drinking well now but is still in its youth.

Agree with others recent notes. This bottle doesn't come together on my palate - seems a bit disjointed. Minimal evidence of maturity so maybe all this means it needs cellar time?

Agree with @WGMCCALLUM recent note. I just liked it a bit more than that. No decant, nice evolution in the glass, after 2 hours, fruit faded but still enjoyable. I think it will improve with age, alas, this was my last bt.

Cellared in temp controlled locker. Drinking beautifully right now and leftover glass very nice the next day. Well built. Didn't expect much from this vintage.

Can't improve on @TWARD notes. I forgot about a few oz of leftover in the bottle, ungassed, but refrigerated for 4 days and the wine still held up. Built for the long haul.

Popped and poured at restaurant. Needs a decant and opened slowly over 2 hours. Will let the next one breath for a while

In an interesting place. Has evolved for the better over the past 5 years. Still has lots of room for development but not sure where it's going.

Jammy on the nose. More balanced on the palate. I don't think this will improve with age.

Yes, this is still a ripe, extracted, wine. But it is beautifully integrated and the tannins are very silky. Aging very well (hard to tell it's almost a decade old.) This bottle had been cellard properly which probably helped.

Personally cellared since 2005, this is still fresh and vital with little signs of reaching maturity. Fruit forward but well balanced. Pleasant upon first pour, it opened up beautifully in the glass over an hour.

Not showing any negative traits of age. Nicely integrated blue fruit. Fairly one dimensional with a medium finish. Probably has several more years of aging potential but not sure if it will get any better.

This is really singing now! Wow, took sooo long to soften up but it finally did. Still benefits from a short decant but it's also pop & pourable.

Very tasty Zin/Rhone blend (the first Saxum made from this historic vineyard.) No signs of age - concentrated but still youthful. Popped and poured but it improved with glass time.

I think a bit past it's peak. This is the older, riper, style from LC and still enjoyable.

It's a lovely wine but did not dazzle my palate as much as other notes here seem to infer. Will cellar my other bottle for a couple years.

Either not aging well or in a dumb phase. Tastes like acid with a bit of herb and earth. 4 hour decant didn’t help. Decided to pour down drain. Disappointing.

My first SQN and very enjoyable. My assessment is that it's enjoyable now but has potential to develop into a better wine.

Drinking beautifully now but has many years of development potential. Bright garnet. Good integration and pleasant acidity - it's intended to be a food wine. Silky texture and enjoyable finish.

Pop & Pour. Maturing nicely - don't think it will get much better as a touch of oxidation was noticed after about 40 mins. Delicious balance of fruit and acid.

Still tightly wound. Popped and poured one glass in late evening. Big and chewy as expected but enjoyable. As it evolved in the glass it took on a more tannic structure. Corked remaining half of bottle and then sipped the next afternoon. It had unwound and was drinking pleasurably. I say cellar for at least another year.

No decant and I don't think it is required at this point as I enjoyed the opening in a large glass. Good integration and concentration (as expected.) I think it's in a very good drinking phase right now but certainly can age more - just uncertain if it will be better for it.

After reading recent notes here was not expecting much. Was a pleasant surprise. Very Italian and good balance and integration at this point. Don't think it will get better so drink up (preferably with rich savory food - Osso Buco comes to mind.)

Drank next to the regular 2004 estate Syrah. This wine is still youthful! Much more mineral driven. After about 45 mins in decanter started to open up more and become more complex. Hold!

Drank next to 2004 Syrah Ma Vigne au Soleil (special single block club only bottling.) This was more fruit forward and still in great shape - years more life here but I think in a good drinking window. Was more fruit forward than Ma Vigne au Soleil.

Been at least 6 years since tasting this wine. I find it a bit more disjointed than previously. It presents itself with sweet fruit and moves to a more structured finish. It did improve with time in the glass so recommend a decant (although I did not.)
