A little thin but opened up nicely to classic Pommard characteristics.

Very floral with lots of fresh strawberry on the palate. Like a Spanish Beaujoulais, cool stuff.

This was a standout at Thanksgiving dinner. Crazy oxidization on the nose, much like a wine from Jura. On the palate there were some earthy undertones you would expect from Oregan Pinot, but there was some much more. Pine, Green Apple, A rich buttery wine that clearly saw some serious US Oak time. This was very unique, and very special. Would recommend for the wine nerds out there.

Super funky. The nose is amazingly oxidized, more then I have ever experienced. On the palate obviously there were the typical oxidized characteristics, however the wine had a bright acidity and crisp, clean taste of apple, baking spices, and limestone that was really enjoyable for me.

A fabulous wine from a good Tuscan producer. It had the great chardonnay qualities I enjoy (creamy, slightly buttery, good vanilla from the oak) with the great crisp, clean, green appley qualities of a good pinot grigio. I had this with a ribollita soup (black kale and tuscan bean) and it really made both the wine and soup sing. Would also recommend this with seafood (particularly squid). A really great Italian white.

A bit dissapointed by this bottle, but it worked well with the Indian food.

Had last night at Rasika. Did not work well with some of the spicier dishes (as I feared) but was great with the Lamb and the Raita. Nice earthiness to it that you don't often find in Cali Pinot. Very Burgundian in style, but still with that ripe Caliornia fruit. Very interesting, I wish I had gotten more of it to see how it ages.

This is what Montepulciano is all about! a special wine only made in special vintages I can see why Bob Dylan commissions them to make his personal stash. Rich with dark cherry and a hint of red berry fruit. I wish I had waited a little longer to open this as the oak is a bit strong, but with some time to breathe it opens up to those wonderful aromas. The Valentini would be the only other wine that I've had better from this grape.

This was a nice 1er cru, but I think slightly past its prime. It tasted very dusty and a little flat, possibly had some cork taint. If you have any I suggest you drink it now.

Thin, not at all like what I love from Barbaresco. I had hoped better for this, even in an off vintage like 2002.

Great Acidic backbone to this verdejo. Fresh, vibrant with citrus and a hint of melon. I would have liked to see some oak on this to make it a little more rich. Still, delicious.

2005 Chappellet Mountain Cuvée Napa Valley Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)

Delicious Bordeaux style blend from Napa. The Merlot gives this a fantastic lusciousness that is jsut so velvety smooth on the palate while the Cab Franc really providing a great nose. Their is vanilla, earth, a slight cedar on the nose. More vanilla, bing cherries, currants, and a good deal of earthy, woodsy tones on the palate. Chappellet is becoming one of my favorite Napa producers.

One of the most unique champagne's I have ever had. It was amazing deep gold color, fantastic pearlage, and held up very nicely for its age. It was still so creamy and rich, yet had such a depth of flavor I had never tasted before. very cool wine.

Very enjoyable, great QPR. This has much more tropical fruit than I typically expect to see in touraine, and is lacking slightly on that great minerality. It is still there though, and if you like a fruitier style wine this one is for you.

This was an interesting expression of Oregon Pinot Noir. I would have loved to taste it when it was much younger, because I think it would have been a monster. This was still showing very strong, even though much of the fruit was gone.

I thought that this was a fantastic expression of erbaluce. I am a big fan of orsolani and all that they do for this little known grape. It was a much better sparkling wine to end the night on, as it was a little bit sweeter than most other italian sparkling like prosecco. Had a great yeasty nose with hints of citrus and melon. Fantastic pearlage, which was astonishing to me and not expected. On the palate it was light, crisp, and refreshing (like prosecco) but that slight residual sugar and the melon characteristic really showed and gave it much better depth. Very enjoyable.

Drank at Blue Hill Tavern in NYC. Just as delicious as the first time we tried it for Thanksgiving 2 years ago. Had it with my pork dish, and was a fantastic pairing. It was also a versatile enough wine to work with the smoked sturgeon we also ordered. Delicious.

straw to golden color unusual of many pinot gris. Green apples, pears, and a slight honeyed aspect on the nose. The finish is short, and it is somewhat off dry though its bone dry at the end. A little leesy and spicy, but again green apples show through, With some interesting meyer lemon zest in there as well. A hint of tropical pineapple in there too. For 12 bucks, this was a very good (although somewhat unusual- not all in a bad way) wine. Would get it again, but would also think the drink it sooner rather than later.

This was a good QPR. THe Chardonnay shines through much more than the Sauvignon Blanc, and starts to taste more like a chablis than a Touraine. Still very enjoyable and went well with the spicy food I ate it with.

Big strawberry nose, with tons more candied fruit on the palate. It is medium bodied and has a medium finish, with a light tannic structure. One of the better QPRs I think I have found. I want more!

This is a very extracted, hedonistic wine. If that is your style than this is awesome! Lots of new oak that is well integrated with the red berry fruit. Enjoyable, but needs some time. If you can't wait I'd recommend decanting.

Tried at the store. That that this was coming along nicely. very well structured with a nice finish and good nose. The glass I tried I think had been sitting a little long after decanting, so I attributed the little flatness I got to that. Still, very enjoyable.

This was an excellent wine. It could have gone a little longer in the bottle, but not much. It's amarone meets barolo. Milk Chocolate on the nose with some red fruits. A little syrupy, almost sticky, that was very full bodied but still had alot of finesse. Fruit coated tannins that had a long fruity finish. Delicious stuff!

Interesting wine. %55 grenache, %45 syrah (i believe). Had slight delicate notes of violet with brambly berries. It was a very rich wine, but well rounded and with an elegant, mid length finish. Definately a nice wine to consider if looking for something off the beaten path of the norm from this area (not like any CNP I've had really). Enjoyed it and will try to find some more of it most likely.

This was a decent wine, however not her best effort. A very grapey sense to it. The nose is incredibly fruit forward, but still has some barnyard to it: not in a good way. I was hoping for more from this, but then again I had high hopes.

Very enjoyable wine. I think that this will improve with another two years or so, as would be expected. The tannisn are a little imbalanced still but I believe that will mellow out. A medium fininsh with some bright acidity to it. Cherry notes as well in the nose. Overall, very enjoyable.

Could definately have used more time in bottle, but still very nice. Very big I got lots of blackberry and bing cherry notes in the nose. Some licorice and a steely quality on the palate, with tannins a little tight on the back end. After sipping for an hour or so this certainly improved. Overall a nicely balanced wine that has good balance of fruit and mineral, looking forward to getting some more to let it age a little longer.

Straw yellow. Pears, with a little bit of an oak nose. The taste was fruity and buttery, much too much so for a SB. A much too flabby wine, which wasn't helped by the fact that the waiter served it too warm.
