Beautiful fruit on the nose, violet-inflected raspberry fruit with herbal complexity. Pretty captivating; silky smooth and refreshing, a lovely drink at cellar temperature. Long and delicious. Excellent as always.

A little fade and a ruby core suggest the age here; lovely nose of earthy/mineral exotic, darker spectrum berried fruits with a touch of spice and cedar; quite richly fruited on the palate, could go on for a few years yet. Tannins nicely softened now but still the 2005 structure and a noticeable fresh acidity. Drinking very well indeed.

Very green/herbal nose. A bit animal; a little flat on the palate, reminds me of everyday Bordeaux. A bit thin.

Cleaner nose, not so much botrytis influence; full and rich on the palate, real unctuous fruit and caramel. Really fresh too.

Botrytis and blood orange on the nose; pithy extract, core of orange and preserved grapefruit with ginger. Lovely balance, the acidity carries the wine so well you hardly notice the sugar. Barley sugar on the finish.

Slightly marred by Brett again. Griotte, earthy fruits; very rich and lovely core of fruit here. Impressive that it shows power but has elegance and freshness. Very good on the palate.

Slightly meaty and menthol (Brett again); very nice on the palate, lovely fruit expression my favourite of the reds so far. Great density and weight, texturally very pleasing with a great core of fruit.

A little more fruited, red fruits and again a touch of Brett; nice acidity and freshness, betrays it’s cooler site, higher elevation. More grip here, not so fat. A little lean, not so fat.

Classic CF aromas in a warmer year but with a hint of Brett sadly. Beyond that, pure and fresh; good refreshment here, a great vin de soif. Cherry stone fruits. Slightly menthol on the finish.

Rich cassis on the nose. Fresh herbal streak alongside. Pretty glorious nose! Perfumed and powerful; rich palate, huge power and concentration. The equal of any top Cuvee anywhere in the world with additional freshness of CF. Real structure shows itself on the finish. A little drying but only slightly.
