I was afraid this might have faded, at 11 years of age. Not so! It was fresh and beautiful, lovely fruit, just a hint of oak. Looking forward to the next bottle.

Needed some decanting to open up. A truly wonderful example of Sonoma Valley Cabernet. Looking forward to the other bottle in the cellar.

Really in a nice spot right now. Perfect with Snapper Veracruz.

Still fresh lively fruit. All three of us loved it.

Someone thought the drinking window was 2015-2016. I have no idea why. This wine is drinking beautifully right now, but definitely has a few more years left. Drink or hold.

Everything about this wine was wonderful, except that it's the last bottle in the cellar. Smooth tannins, plenty of dark, fresh fruit.

Spectacular, still vibrant fruit, no raisining at all., unlike many Zins this age. Scott does it right!

Despite advice from the folks at the winery when we visited in August 2014 to drink it right away, we held it until Thanksgiving 2015. I don't think it lost a thing. Of course, it helped that it was a 1.5L bottle. A perfect example of what a skilled winemaker can do with Zinfandel grapes from the Hayne Vineyard, and why Zinfandel is my favorite.

Smooth as silk, with a delightful finish. Wish we had more.

Despite the winery's disclaimer about the Cab/Syrah blend, which the Aussies, among others, have been doing for years, this was a real beauty. Plenty of rich tannins, serious aging potentiel. Looking forward to drinking our last bottle in a year or 2.

I'm sure this wine would have held up for at least a few more years, but it certainly was wonderful tonight. Iron Horse never disappoints. A classic Pinot Noir.

For a wine that supposedly should have been consumed a year ago, this was a real beauty. The tannins have all resolved nicely, and the fruiut is surprisingly fresh.

Shared with 6 others at a Shakespeare in Delaware PArk fund-raiser. Everyone loved it.

This wine is in a great spot right now, tannins have softened up, plenty of luscious fruit left. Glad to have a couple more in the cellar.

Nice easy drinking wine, lots of fruit. Looking forward to seeing how it does with a bit more time in bottle.

Definitely not over the hill, despite suggested drinking window ending in 2012. A lovely wine.

Took about 5 minutes to open up after initial pour immediately upon opening. Still drinking beautifully. I won't hold the last 2 bottles indefinitely, but I'm confident it will last nicely through the next year or so.

Nice and fruity. A great complement to broiled salmon filet. Ignore the drinking window ending in 2012, it's drinking beautifully right now.

Smooth and silky tannins, full of dark fruit, plums, bing cherries. This is what Scott does best: pretty much Old World style, moderate alcohol, let the grapes do their thing.

A real powerhouse at 15.7% ABV, but not a hint of heat on the nose or palate. Lots of fruit, a little raisiny, but that's to be expected with a Zin this old. We both like that, so we tend to hole Zins beyond when most would think advisable. Wish we had more.

Needed a bit of air, but absolutely wonderful. Rich dark fruit, smooth tannins. I'll wait a year or so before opening the next one.

This wine had a lot of promise, but I think we opened it too soon. Aeration helped, but in retrospect, I think it could have used another year or more in the bottle.

Finishing off a meal, this wine was delightful. Unctuous, perfect acid-sugar balance, just the right amount of oak.

Community drinking window said drink by 2010. This wine was still at peak. Crisp acidity, delicious fruit. Wonderful with pan-fried ocean perch.
