A touch of amber hue and mainly dark ruby colour, beautiful transparency! Nose of French oak barrique, ripe, sweet fruits, a little bit of spiciness, and a gentle touch of leather. The palate is rich and dense, rather youthful and quite meaty, full of substance, long finish! Ready to drink but not yet ready to shine! Needs a decade of cellaring, with a very promising future!

This little bottle tells me that this is the right moment to enjoy it. Although still showcasing its little tannic structure, no doubt in the right drinking window! A sort of blackish, translucent dark colour! Approaching the age of forty, it is surprisingly young, full of vibrant fruits, and full of energy. There are tons of powdery sediments, and they definitely need a brief decanting or should I say pour the wine in your glass very carefully! Complex nose of mild caramel fruits, a hint of sweetness and a hint of oriental spiciness, and of course, the benchmark seasoned cedar wood cigar leaves, gorgeous aroma. The palate is in my view, rich and dense, but not tight, very spicy, and slightly dry with a long finish! Drinking window? It is entirely up to you, now or within the next two decades, it really depends on how one stores it!

I opened it for the occasion of St Valentine ♥ day, the wine is on the masculine side, so my mission failed, not for the romantic atmosphere shall we say...

To conclude the year 2023, I found myself an excellent bottle of a 30-year-old 1993 Château L'Evangile, in its pristine condition, beautiful ruby colour with a touch of bricky, watery rim! Superb nose of crushed berry fruits, a hint of earthiness, a touch of spiciness. The palate is rich, full of vibrant fruits, quite smooth, a little spicy and a punchy finish! I'm deeply shocked by the inner self-energy ⛮ of it! Excellent!

Beautiful light golden colour! Nose of roasted nuts, ripe, peachy fruits, and a hint of chalky minerals! And maybe I'm a bit sensitive, I can smell a slight hint of petrol fuel! On the palate, rather sweet, white stone fruits dominated the palate with a hint of nuttiness, simple and straightforward, silky smooth! I have a sense that this still has room to improve, with a blossoming future.
