1/20/19, 4:01 AM - Couldn’t agree more! Highly disappointed they jacked up their prices for the ‘15 (by $50/btl) after receiving a 100 point Parker rating pre-release. Historically, they increased their prices by $5/btl/year for a decade or more.

Finding that these wines are past their prime at 8-10 years. Going to begin drinking them in the 4-7 year range.

12/9/17, 7:42 PM - Should add...bought directly from the winery and stored in perfect conditions. Pulled bottle from cellar 24 hours prior and let stand. Temp was around 65 when opened which was too warm as the alcohol stood out. Decanted and put in ice water to lower temp. Fruit had dissipated and was disjointed at first but with time the layered flavors emerged. Still something was left to be desired. The nose was muted too, which is what I love most about these wines.

Knocked it back a few points since my last tasting a year ago. Still very good and drinking well now. Maybe on the downslope? I will be drinking the rest of mine over the next 6 months.

Hate to do this, but this wine was somewhat painful to drink over 2 days. Unbalanced, alcoholic and oaky. Big fruit with some nice nuance and flavors, but overall not very enjoyable. I was at a loss and almost poured it out save the $80 price tag guilt thinking it would improve. Have 2 left and hope this was an off bottle.

8/15/14, 8:16 PM - Thanks, BD for the insight. The '08s are the 1st vintage I bought from aubert..I've had a few others prior to this which were better, but still too over the top...I stopped buying aubert's pintos for that reason and this bottle further confirmed that decision....the fruit seemed cooked/stewed to me....couldn't figure it out. Hoping my remaining 08, 09, 10 and 11 pinots are a different experience. Thanks!

PNP....explosive perfumed nose full of spicy red fruit with floral notes. Picked up alcohol on the nose which was off putting, but overall loved it. Palate was big with some chewy tannin. Dark red fruit, spice, plenty of oak & underbrush. This needs some time to come together...another 2-4 years.

9/12/13, 7:28 PM - Wink...it may be wishful thinking. Had another glass tonight & the nose was much less impactful, my favorite aspect of the wine last night. The palate was softer & rounder with 24 hours on it as you would expect, but the overall impression was relatively flat. I visited Jadot in Beaune last week & was less than impressed with their wines in general. We did not taste any of their Grand Crus & I have had only 1 Jadot Grand Cru in my life, the '03 Clos de Beze, which was not enjoyable (stewed/cooked fruit).

Last bottle, ordered direct from winery & stored in cellar since....nice wine, but not for the price. Decanted & consumed over a 4 hour period of time. Very lush fruit, black & blueberry compote. It was in good balance with the oak & alcohol integration, which is something I struggle with in young QC wines. I believe the '04 was the 1st Galitzine Vineyard release so the simplicity of this wine makes sense...not overly complex or layered. Had the '08 in Q3 or Q4 of '12 & that nose & palate was compelling so I look forward to seeing these improve!

3/2/13, 9:01 PM - Forgot to say that this had an earthy funk on the nose upon opening (very intriquing). It faded with time.

2nd bottle opened several weeks after delivery from the winery. Bottle was horribly corked. Took it to 2 local wine merchants and the reactions were classic....7 professionals smelled it and 2 tasted it. Hope I never have to experience that again!!! Sipping on an '08 Armada to redeem myself and it has worked.

12/20/12, 6:33 PM - Not to worry....I've been drinking Cayuse wines since the '02 vintage & have never had a problem with a bottle being corked. My 1st bottle of '09 GOK Grenache (opened 2 weeks prior) was not corked, although, it was volatile and out of sorts...disappointing for other reasons. I will not go near my other bottles for at least 3-5 years.
