Bottle breathe for 1.5 hours. Ready to service after 20 min in the glass. Expressive nose with cherry, flower, wood. The palate is complex with branches, wax, red fruit and medium finishing. Best 2 hours in the glass as the nose is with explosive daffodils. So nice. The palate is full body, and still very balanced. nice efforts and right on spot now

Bottle breathe for 6 hours, and decant for another 1 hour before serving. Smooth and elegant palate, with very nice cherry, cigar, tar, smoke and wood. Fully matured and perhaps best time to enjoy. Long finishing. I would have thought this is a Bordeaux left bank.

Bottle breathe for 1 hour, and ready to service. Quite open nose with red fruit, the palate is the mix of cherry, forest floor, some smoke and flower note. Quite nice given it’s just a village GC. The wine keeps evolving in the next 2 hours. Medium finishing

Bottle breathe for 1 hour and another 30 min in glass to open up. Still young with loads of fruit, and noted spice and oaky, the taste is refreshing red fruit, spice, pepper with a bit complexity. Medium finishing. It evolved well in the next 2.5 hours

PnP and opened in the glass. The nose was rather reserved from start to finishing (around 3 hours). Some hint of fruit, wood and game but not obvious. The palate again is quite shy with some oolong tea, wood, smoke and cherry. Medium to full body with some strength, but nothing really stands out as grand cru. Still a nice experience.

The palate became smooth, integrated red fruit, wood with complexity. Medium finishing. Peaked after 2 hours in the glass. Seems still too young to enjoy

71" b-day party: Bottle breathe for 1.5 hours, then another 2 hours at the restaurant. Still tight. We needed double decant before serving. The nose is quite reserved with little scent of flower, but the palate is tight and ruggy. Not until the very last sip (about 1.5 hour in the glass), it started to open with sexy nose with perfume, cigar, violet and smoke. The palate becomes complex with earthy, tar and violet. Medium finishing. Tempted to give it a try again!

71" b-day party: Bottle breathe for 1 hour. The nose is obvious with dried flowers, plum and elegant fruit. The palate is integrated tannin with little fruit left, with some Chinese herbs and smoke. Very nice given the age. This is obviously different from the 1971 on the same night. And I loved both!!

71" b-day party: Double magnum. Opened the bottle 9pm a night before (taste of sour, flat with little fruit - still alive), and put the cork back on. Tasted again at 3pm (18 hours after opening), the wine is still a bit high acidity, but the fruit came out nicely. Double decanted half of the bottle, and put it back with cork left opened until 6pm (21 hours after). The bottle is ready with another 1 hour of bottle breathe, with violet and cheery nose, full body, integrated fruit and perfume with long finishing. The 76 Gaja Barbaresco was also nice, but the body was thinner with less fruit. Great line up

Bottle breathe for 1 hour, and double decant before serving. Blowing scent of flower, and palate with spice, fruit, smoke yet very smooth. It’s in service after 20 min in the glass. It evolves quite nicely, with scent / nose of almond at one point (perhaps 1 hour). It becomes more full body after 1.5 hours with violet, cherry and medium finishing. Peaked about the same time. Really enjoyable and right on spot now. I will try “slow ox” next time with bottle breathe for 2 hour, and let the bottle open slowly.
