Nose is seashore, chalk, light floral, light stone fruit
Flavor is chalky, minerality, lemon, stone fruit essence
Superbly balanced amongst all the above
I have to say it’s simply fabulous!!
94 for the complexity and balanced components of the wine.. 👏🏻

My last bottle of this… after being a Myriad Quivet
Becklyn Ancillary buyer for several years , his quickly ratcheting prices have turned me off..I find far more compelling wines at far better prices in other places.
Ok that said..tonight this was blue and black berries
With a taut minerality and smooth tannic envelope..
It’s quite delicious but for the price and not to mention current pricing.. look elsewhere

Nose is asphalt, plum, black pepper, bitey..
Flavor is plum, blackberry, dark cherry, slight licorice
finishing with nicely resolved tannins and excellent acidity to balance it all out

Collab review with Anne of the vineyards….
Anne says nose is that of a musty cave and blackberry and plums
Taste surprisingly bright with blackberry with a smooth finish

We give the wine a 94 and her review a 100

Floral notes on nose with ripe red fruit
Taste is leather cherry tobacco with a solid wall of tannins..leads to a tannic cherry finish that is quite drying.. good structured wine .. definitely a food wine
Very solid brunello and good QPR..
Lots of bottle time left on these

As a CDP lover I found this to be a bit one dimensional and borderline thin
Lightly fruited nose with some herbalness
Tongue is plum, ripe cherry, with nice tannins and some acidity..;
It’s a nice wine but lacks depth and complexity
Certainly not a wine to remember
The price was right on sale but would have felt
a bad QPR at normal retail

Improved with time
Excellent fruit and balance and tannins have tamed
a bit… green bell pepper note keeps it from a higher
Score from me

Very enjoyable condrieu
Nose has a wet stone/chalk note with peach and lime

Palate is all stone fruit front and middle but back edge tongue finish is lime zest and nice acidity to balance out the sweeter stone fruit…
Have to say it delicious and memorable…BRAVO

Hmmm.. decent cab but underwhelms in my view..
Now I am not an over extracted Caymus type so I appreciate balance and restraint .., however this wine was a bit under extracted and thin tasting …
This is in the context of what I was expecting..
It was tasty but didn’t live up to my expectation..
Not a good QPR

and sweet cherry is additive to me

Decanted and settled for 6 hours…
Cherry fruit … fairly linear… and still a sturdy wall
of tannic structure.. time in bottle has softened the tannins but there’s plenty left…
Will give the last bottle a few more years..

Very comparable to a top Chablis which to me is high
praise..clean precise notes of citrus fruit, sea shells,
Finish is tad stone fruit, citrus lemon lime,
Minerality and bracing clean acidity…
Really delicious… a fantastic food pairing wine

Nice expressive nose…good balance.. silky…
Maybe a tad thin on the finish but that’s being picky..

Hmmm..: a definite sense of being oxidative…
That note intruded over all else and swayed my rating..
At times I could say maybe black olive but I think it was a bit off…
This was on day two after opening and well pumped..
Will see what the other bottles taste like..

Such an elegant delicious expression of Cabernet..
In no way is it even remotely like a typical cali cab
Brighter more elegant more bright fruit with more acidity and fine tannins…
It’s A 13.4 ABV not an overbearing 15-16% fruit bomb monster
To think it’s a 2001 is amazing for its freshness

I would add that this is an interesting and unique expression of Chardonnay… one you will remember and want to share with friends…. And to me that makes it a very good wine !!
Nicely done !

Polarizing wine as my wife and I could not agree on smells or flavors…
She noted Sauvignon blanc notes that I didn’t get
I got classic white burg notes but had a tad sweet edge to them
Note: my wife was farting during this tasting and it may have clouded my tasting judgement

Regarding Acove’s note… IMO not near a cali syrah as we had this against a Myriad whole cluster syrah from las madres vineyard… differences were prominent,,
The myriad had a better nose with more upfront fruit but less complexity …the cornas was deeper darker
with olives , savory notes, more salinity, fruit was deep but more integrated with the other notes
Vgood

Let’s start with I normally like CSIMMS notes…
He has a few good points on this wine..but inaccurate
in my humble opinion.. first off this is 13.5 % abv.
Many good fruit earthy notes that match his notes but it has a syrupy quality that is the main reason I don’t buy a lot of cali syrahs..it’s a bit tiresome after a few sips … trying too hard to extract the fruit with no attention to balance…
It ends cloying and jammy and syrupy..
I give it a 89 but reserve the right to change my mind on future bottles as this was a PnP

Wonderfully expressive nose… so inviting…
Floral notes of lavender rose and ripe strawberry…
Flavor explodes with cherry , strawberry , light
earthiness with very light tannins and a very nice
Acidic wrapper that stays in perfect balance..
Tasting notes pre dinner… have to imagine it’s going to be perfect with tonight’s chuleta kan kan pork..
Look đź‘€ that pork up !!

So clean and precise…
Loads of bracing acidity in the finish which just keeps lingering on as you smack your lips…
Salinity plays a minor role along with good minerality
Underlying the sumptuous fruit notes and a lime zest presence…
Quite good

Jolly rancher strawberry dominates the entire experience
Lightweight body with that bright slightly candied strawberry finished with a touch earth and nice uplifting acidity
Very nice but somewhat simple/one dimensional
Somewhat similar to Oregon Pinot

Nose draws you in
Good mouth feel … nice glycerin legs
Bright very fresh fruit of cherry plum with noticeable
Tannins and excellent structure acidity and minerality

Really really excellent wine
Bit of tannin alcohol burn on finish keeps it from even higher score

Light gold color..
Nose is interesting but muted… some funkiness on nose
Honeyed lime zest apricot peach but lime zest
carries the day.. well balanced
Finishes bright
Would never be confused with a new world chardonay or burgundy white for that matter…
You owe it to yourself to seek out a bottle and try..
This leans more Sauvignon blanc in a blind taste
