Unmistakably Bordeaux on the nose, still has a bit of tannic grip. Softening out with air. A pleasing wine for a weekday as a enough fruit left to give it interest. Not going anywhere drink up not going to improve.

Opened last night in celebration for the 75th anniversary of the end of war in Europe. My experience slightly different to the last review. Ready to drink immediately after opening. A slightly gamey nose plus everything you would expect from the top Bordeaux Marques. It was heavenly just to breathe that in alone. The taste revealed that some tannin and grip was still there in a very pleasant way and still some fruit which just added to the multi dimensional balance. I think the drinking window is about right, I don’t believe it will improve but in fairness it does not need to. It just depends how long it can now stay where it is. Not sure that decline would be a word I would use. The wine remained delicious without any food for the remainder of the evening and just a little more leather and cigar box appeared, but just so smooth, I had no close down period at all. How to score, for me it has got to be a 98.

I don’t leave many reviews. Perhaps it is the emotion of lockdown, or perhaps that I know Phillippe Brun very well. Opened this and the aroma was sensational hot seafood shell from Prawn, Scallop, Oyster. On the palate tarte tatin, probably the best champagne I have ever tasted.

My last bottle, I bought 6 in Conad supermarket in Amandola in Le Marche. For a Brunello the price point was very attractive and all 6 have given much pleasure. Still has good fruit and still a little tanin, overall perfect time to drink now, smooth and goes just as well without food as with. Wish I had more, will look to try the 2010 and will buy some 2015.

Can only agree with trufflehunter. Well past peak, still a very nice bouquet but disappointingly virtually nothing for the palate only a hint at what was.

2 bottles from same OWC drank with BGA. Noted that WS had this vintage down as way below average. Can't agree I'm afraid, this is an excellent wine, bouquet not noticeably powerful but the fruits are still there. On taste unbelievable balance of fruit and acidity, plenty of grip and colour, you would never guess this wines age, it is right in the drinking window and I would guess has plenty of time left yet, no need to drink up at all. An absolute pleasure to experience.

Not sure if this was a storage issue. Big at 15% alcohol, no nose on opening and even after an hour nothing to reveal. Smooth but almost completely void of acidity to give any bite, by the end of the evening a little fruit emerged but this was going nowhere and had no character to reveal. A big disappointment.

I agree with the drinking window. Opened one bottle and tasted it two days running. Little changed. Still too young good colour and only slight nose, rather sweet. A good mouthfeel and a very pronounced caramel finish. Good potential. Leave until 2016 or 2017 to try again.
