The wine still feels a little unresolved. Nose with a very clear hint of oak. Flowers, chocolate and ketchup. On the palate there is sweet and sour fruit, hints of blood orange, perfume and heavy, malty fruit. Still have to lay a few years...

This French Riesling is beginning to mature well. Almost fortified nose. Apricot and something tropical. The palate is still relatively fresh. Tropical fruit, diesel and well-ripe fruit. High acidity makes it stand up well to pork ribs.

From Magnum. Spent 6 years in own cellar. Oak is still present, but in a subtle manner. Dark fruit, like plum. Traces of smoke, leather, and mint. Oakyness adds some sweet notes as well.

Dark crimson red, no transition. No signs of age. Heavy nose. Baking spices, an old leather couch, a cigar, decaying leaves, wet soil, and some flowery notes. The palate is a bit more polished than six years ago. Tertiary taste. Leather, licorice, tobacco. Some dark fruit, chocolate, and mint in the finish.

Time has done this one a few favours. Delicious nose with soft spicy notes, muted red, soft fruit, and leather. Hints of almond and marcipan. Palate is harmoniously balanced and is perceived as complex. Fresh. Juicy. Tastes of leather, spices, dark fruit, cherry, ripe raspberries, licorice and cough syrup. Lingers. Much better than 4 yrs ago!

The wine is deep red and clear. Closed and mute upon opening. Spent the evening in a wide decanter, and significantly opened up. Nose of wax, black tea, concentrated cherry, fruit syrup, and hints of tar. As a relatively young Barolo it obviously has noticeable tannins. Still, they are not perceived as destructive. Cherry, tobacco, leather, and concentrated red fruit. Dry. Long. Will last.

Interesting, and not a region nor grape I drink very often. Light with juicy tart fruit and berries. Spices, some earth and a rocky minerality. Would drink the wine for itself or with hard cheese, charcuterie, light meat and mixed casserole.

11 is considered an intermediate vintage in Bordeaux. I have had this for 7 years, and at the time I thought this was an expensive wine. I think it held up well in storage. Still brilliant red with no color change towards the edge. Nose with coffee grounds, red fruit, spices, and leather. Delicious tannins. Good length. Red fruit, some licorice, spices, and leather. A good wine, which drinks very well now. With pepper steak, broad beans, gravy, and mushroom stew with onions

Liberating simple and good wine. Initially tight and astringent with leather, dark fruit, tobacco, and ketchup. Gradually a milder expression. Deep fruit, red tea, and spices. Tight, but at the same time a welcoming taste of dark berries and pepper. A young wine that gives a lot of wine pleasure for the money.

Purple. Lush and rich. Not much reminding of Pinot Noir - suspect either sugar or different grapes in the blend. Boiled fruit and sticky plumjam. If it was a 10$ bottle I would still feel ripped off.

Domain Leroy; 7/2/2022-7/3/2022 (Mørkved): About a barrel produced (300ish bottles). Nose with concentrated fruit. Pepper, spice, wax, bright red berries, spring, summer forest, and meadow. Perfume. The palate is appealing with slim, sour fruit, red berries, and floral spices. Clean, precise, and nice. Smooth but with a tight and long finish. Good, just good to enjoy.

Domain Leroy; 7/2/2022-7/3/2022 (Mørkved): Deep red against brick. Again; a complex nose with mushroom stew, lightly moistened tobacco pouch, tar, quayside, honey, tea, and fruit syrup. Morels and early autumn are also mentioned around the table, along with mild perfume and dried meat. Elegant and smooth. In the mouth, it is delicate with precise red fruit. Elegant and smooth, but great acid structure keeps the wine well up. Finish with light licorice. Surprisingly high level for a 24-year-old wine at regional level.

Domain Leroy; 7/2/2022-7/3/2022 (Mørkved): Deep dark red, with no discoloration towards the edge. Nose with deep red fruit. Very clear smell of dark cherries. Spice, pepper, perfume, leather, and earth tones. Complex. In the mouth, fantastic acidity and velvet tannins give the wine a wonderful grip. Red, crisp fruit, red apple, perfume, spices, and sweet licorice. Violent wine (in an elegant way). Damn long.

Domain Leroy; 7/2/2022-7/3/2022 (Mørkved): Golden yellow. On the nose, the wine is experienced as light, clean and fresh, delicate and welcoming. Citrus and oak tones and the wine gets a sweeter touch with air - almost floral. On the palate, the wine is viscous. It has high acidity and feels fresh. Orange peel, iced tea, peach, and mint. A delicious wine. Textbook P M? Impressive and interesting how different the same vintage, grape, and producer can taste! A delicious wine.

Toast, burned match, tea, mint, and caramel. In the mouth, the wine is experienced as fresh and with good acidity. Butter, toast, freshly washed floor, and pines. With air, the wine gets a sweet touch. Beautiful use of oak and a long finish.

When BBQing Ridge is good to lean on. Velvet nose with deep dark fruit. Spices, blueberries, plums, cherries, and peppers. Almonds. Determined, but fine-meshed and well-integrated tannins give the wine a perfect structure. Perfect for barbecue bonanza. The juicy fruit is also found on the palate. Spices and pepper. Finish with tobacco and leather. Note to self; buy more Ridge!
