Served at cellar temperature after 90min decant in big Pinot glasses. Ethereal aromatics and brilliant color. Balanced and in a great place. Last bottle of the 2016. Looking forward to future vintages.

Subtle, yet expressive. Well balanced. Not as powerful or acid driven as similar vintage Chapoutier Rhone Blancs. Low'ish alcohol. Benefited from being served on the cool side and with a vigorous decant. Planning to wait a few years on the remaining bottles.

Not what I was hoping for Christmas dinner. First bottle was corked. 2nd bottle was marginal.

4th and final bottle from my cellar. One of the most perfect bottles of wine I have ever drank. Wish I had many more. Shared with friends during a special dinner. Hoping the 2015 vintage proves to be as special.

Passable Rose from a not so stellar vintage. Hints of Bret on the nose. Unclear if the bottle was flawed, it was so slight.

Young, but vibrant. Very drinkable now. Not certain it will have aging potential past 10-12 years.

Quite an interesting Cava. 100 months on lees. Sophisticated and subtle at the same time. Long finish.... Still thinking about this wine 3 days after finishing the bottle.

This bottle was acquired upon release, stored at Eastside Wine Storage in Bellevue, WA and consumed mid-March 2022. What a fantastic wine. Still deep red color, little bricking, hesitant port-like nose, and wonderful aged burgundy flavors. Medium finish, but such a memorable experience. Congrats to the Sea Smoke folks for such a terrific wine.

A very good red Burgundy. I judge Pinot Noir by how much my wife likes them. This one she says “A keeper” which means I have to source some more!

The bottle was decanted for 2h before drinking. It was definitely open for business. Nose was a bit restrained, but still classic Gaja. Vivid fruit, silky smooth and integrated tannins. One of the diners had Pasta with Bolognese and said the wine popped with the tomato-based sauce. Probably should drink the rest of the bottles over the next 5 years.

Badly oxidized. This is the second bottle of this wine that was oxidized. Also had a bottle that was corked. Only 1 of 4 bottles worth drinking. Wondering if others have had this experience.

Great, great bottle. 2+ hours of decant needed for the wine to show. This is not a pop/pour wine at this stage of its development. Would benefit from 3-5 more years in the cellar. Paired so nicely with ravioli with pink (marinara / alfredo) sauce.

The 2002 vintage in Napa is underrated, in my opinion. The wines took longer to evolve and they have a more Bordeaux-like quality. Not an in-your-face alcohol heavy fruit bomb. The Grace Family is a good example of the 2002 vintage. It reminds me of the some of the 1998 Bordeaux's in character and taste. This bottle is beginning to show its age. Not quite as bright as the bottle I drank in 2019. Drank alongside a 2009 Pichon LaLande that was a stunner.

Always a pleasant surprise when a Barbaresco tastes this great after 20+ years. Paired with mushroom dishes that made the wine POP! The cherry notes on this wine are simply stunning. Have one more bottle.

Stunning Brunello that shows the value of aging and patience. Deep purple color, expressive nose and a finish of 30+ seconds. Consumed with colleagues at Serafina - matched with their lasagna. BOOM!

100% Mencia from Bierzo. Parker and Vinous both rate this bottle/vintage 95. Really quite elegant for Mencia. Some think this grape is reminiscent of Burgundy. I disagree. Mencia is distinctive on its own. Lots of red fruit, some smokey hints with a bit of spice. Last bottle, but will be on the lookout for 2020. Some say, one of the best vintages in Spain in quite some time.

Corked bottle. Disappointing and frustrating. Had the bottle since release.

Very beautiful wine. Opened up after 60 minutes, but was better when served chilled vs room temperature. Glycerin, stones and honey. Paired quite well with crab cakes and halibut.

22 years in the bottle and 19 years in my cellar. Found five bottles hidden away and tried one last night at Serafina with an amazing Lasagna. Ive had many vintages of Guado and this had to be amongst the most positively surprising bottles I have had. Integrated tannins, perfect blend of primary and secondary characteristics, simply amazing. I moved the remaining 4 bottles to the front of the cellar and will consume them over the next 12-18 months. Antinori - well done!

One of the finest young MtD Chablis' I have ever tasted. MtD is a great vineyard and I have had the pleasure of drinking many bottles of MtD from all the great producers - including Raveneau. But this? Quite spectacular. Light pale color, well balanced and structured, great acid with hints of sea shell, medium finish. Perhaps I prefer young Chablis?

This is what Chablis is all about. Premier Cru juice, but completely blew away the Raveneau Clos Grand Cru. Perfect acid, balance, and a long finish. This really is a stunning wine.

There is something very special about Giacosa wines - especially if you give them time to age properly. Opened this bottle with friends last night and it was simply ethereal and amazing. I read that some decanted this wine for a number of hours before drinking. We popped and poured and BOOM! Stunner from the start. The nose was of red fruits and so delicate - reminiscent of aged burgundy. No alcohol on the nose. The taste was at the exact balance of primary and secondary characteristics - telling me that the bottle was in the perfect spot for drinking. I have one bottle left and will look forward to seeing this wine continue to evolve.

Young, but very, very tasty Viognier. 2019 vintage in Condrieu was outstanding and this wine shows well at this young age. The challenge for me will be keeping my hands off the other bottles!

Popped and poured after 45 min decant and drank with pizza. Light body, floral nose and certainly red fruits on the palette. 10-12 second finish. Compliments the acidity of the tomato sauce and cured meats quite well. But I do not understand the 100 points assigned by Decanter. Good wine but not a great wine.

Stunning wine, dark and brooding for 21 year old Nebbiolo, with an intensity that evokes emotion. Bought and stored since release. Drank with neighbors outside around the fire pit 3 weeks after we all completed our vaccinations. A hopeful moment with a beautiful wine.

Stunning wine. Bought at release and stored properly. Worth the wait. Popped and decanted for 1 hour. Still plenty of bright red fruit (raspberry), with some signs of secondary characteristics. Hard to imagine a Musigny VV any better than this.

Stunning champagne of superior quality. Fits my style, which requires a more vinous approach. Paired well with shellfish. But most importantly, my wife loves it.
