This is very good. Can't remember having a Sauzet I liked this much for a long time. Firm grip, fleshy, peaches, and minerals that goes on for quite a while.
Red
drinking well. nice structure with some grip. Cherry and earth, with good minerality and finish, some tannins on the finish. This could cellar even a whle longer..

honey and white flower nose. stone fruit with lemon, spice, minerals, lemony finish with minerals. Elegant and delicious
Red
rasberry and bramble on nose. a bit cloudy. Pure sweet red and dark fruits with good acidity, integrated spice, herbs, bramble, and a baking spice finish with fine tannins. Very nice CA pinot, very smooth, rich and sweet with some complexity, manages to reign in the heat somehow.
White
I had no intention of saving this but recently found it. Surprise! very drinkable with great acidity, some richness with lemon peel, beeswax and good minerality with extract in the finish. Lighter and livelier than a full-on 1er with some green-ness and less fruit but enjoyable.
Red
nicely within the drinking window with scents of earth and dark cherry. Smooth and rich medium weight flavors of earth, mushrooms, cherry, and cedar.
Red
briar and red fruits on the nose. Lively red fruit, earth, and briar, with some spice and red and dark fruit sappiness. Nicely in balance on alchol, oak. pretty and very pinot in character.

drinking well. ripe pear, peach, gewurtz spice, rose petal, honey, rich round sliky mouth feel. Age perhaps rounds out that acid and edges to create a smoothness that is memorable and almost ethereal. A fantastic apres-ski appertif.
Red
consistent with other notes. No greenie meanies, very drinkable. cherry in the nose. some bricking but wound up quite a bit with struture, mineral and cherry. Oak seems well absorbed which is a concern for me with this bottling. I would cellar another few years at least...
White
chalky minerality with notes of pear and a seamless crisp and clean texture. lots of backend extract wth resinous spice. Great length with lingering ripe fruit. no apparent danger of oxidizing in the near term. Perhaps my 2nd favorite bottle of 04 Fevre to date slightly behind an amazing bottle of Preuses.
Red
Pop & pour. bramble and berry fruit nose. Initial flavors of leather, slight brett, earth and mineral with some red and dark fruit. Over time the leather barnyard flavors fell to the back and some pure juicy fruit of raspberry & blackberry were prominent with some cocoa, white pepper. Quite balanced with good acidity and nice finish.
Red
earth and brambles in the nose. light to medium Flavors of tart cherry and earth that leads to a slight rasberry sweetness and then a long earth and mineral finish with orange peel and iron. very nice balance. classic Gevrey earthiness. no strong sense of age and would not be afraid to age a bit longer.
Red
sweet red fruit and floral note nose. Red fruits, earth, medium weight, lively. Drinking well now.
White
suprisingly good. Starts out llively and complex with hard rock, background fruit, tension and then opens up over time with length, mineral, and extract. Really starting to come together. Lovely. The wine seems to be folding in over time from more of fruit bomb to a wonderful Corton Charlie.
Red
red and dark fruit nose. Lots of fruit in the palate nice acid with some structure but a bit of heat in the end. Still respectable but I would drink now rather than later.
White
lemon and white flower nose. Taunt, high-toned, structured with lemon citrus, earth, and nice extract. Excellent finish. Could easily age a few years longer but enjoyable now.
White
nicely integrated oak and big california chardonnay weight with a wonderful complexity of fruit and spice. A bit sweet and soft but really nice weight and length. Preferred by our group to a really nice lemony Chassagne. I would drink these up...

not much on the nose, perhaps faint mineral. nice tension and grip with underlying power and hard-rock like flavors that dissolve as the wine finishes. Accompanying green and citrus fruit that adds but this is mostly mineral.. Much better than previous bottles and I might perhaps hold another year..

white flowers on the nose. generous and extracted fat flavors of mineral, apple-pear-peach and spice with a long spice and mineral finish that lasts and dissolves to apple and stone. Great structure and acidity. This has a longer life ahead and I am not hesitant to cellar 1-2 years longer.

nose of dried cherry and earth. 03 style fruit and alcohol that makes this wine quite California like. However there is some balance with almost seamless ripe cherry, earth, anise, cinnamon and minerals and a generous finish. This is nice and preferable over most CA pinots.

faint green fruit on the nose. Fairly intense and dry flavors of limestone, seashore, green fruit but lively and a hint of pear sweetness. Long mouthcoating minerally finish. Really nice.

nose has faint notes of strawberry jam. Structured and balanced earthy flavors with tart fruit, hard rock, and mineral. As the wine lingers the flavors seem to intensify with tart fruit, earth, iron, and mineral into a long finish. Doesn't seem that old and I think this can easily go a few more years to soften out a bit.
Red
I like this wine as it still shows fruit and complexity but hides the alcohol and absorbs the oak well. Still, it seems to be at its peak and I would not age these much longer. Getting sea and earth nose, with ripe fruit and classic root beer like flavors with earth, integrated oak and pine.

Agree with other review on this one. some citrus and oak but overall a bit flabby and boring. Lacks any complexity. Getting grapefruit in the flavor a bit but without any zing. Didn't finish the bottle. Not flawed but uninspring.
White
excellent. Sullphur does not seem to be an issue. nose of grilled bread and spice. Tons of extract and complexity with some pear, mineral, spice, grilled bread. I tried to save some to see how it would open up after an hour but guests quaffed it all up. My guess is that it would have been better.
Red
popped and poured. cloudy in color. Green notes on the nose. tastes a bit like spicy V-8 mixed with grapefruit juice. Not totally unpleasant , just 90% unpleasant.

some oak but well buffered in an an abundance of elegant pure and long fruit. Gorgeous bottle.
Red
elegant, pure, & complex with a wonderful nose of cherry, smoke, and spice. A bit more complex than I remember. This is GC quality with a long fruit and mineral filled finish.

blackberry and red fruit nose with hints of gingerbread. Lovely long and silky blackberry fruit, with long fruit, bramble, and soft tannin finish. Wonderful balance and no hint of wood or heat. Lovely..
Red
similar to Paul S. nose of strawberry, soy, earth, spice and cut flowers. Over an hour increasing sweetness with silky tart cherry, strawberry, earthy mineral and long fine tannin finish. pretty and delicious.
White
floral nose with lemon and toast. Rounder less-tight mouthfeel with rich chalk and mineral xtract leading to long-long mineral finish with quite a bit of dry extract coating the palate. outstanding, but I like the Fevre Les Clos and Preuses better in 04.
Red
Good complexity and fruit but I am personally distracted by what I perceive to be noticeable brettanomyces. I believe this to be a personal preference but just not my thing... Underlying character of this wine is quite nice.
Red
great balance and complexity, medium weight and lively but dominated with dark fruit intertwined with florals, spice, forest floor, and secondary leather/tar. Drinking well, does not appear to have much age yet.
Red
my experience seems different than others.. this bottle has definite cherry silky sweetness and purity of fruit with great lenght for a bourgogne rouge. Really seemed at a higher level. Easy to to drink and the bottle was soon empty.
White - Sparkling
drank with pizza. good acid structure and complete flavors with sweet lime, floral notes, spice and ripe fruit. nice length and finish. I would perhaps call it a riper style blanc de blanc.
Red
popped and poured at near cellar temp, warming in glass. Still had wonderful flora and red fruit nose. Signficant richness, depth and length with pure somewhat sweet red and dark fruit from start to end. Additional earthy complexity in the finish. drinking very well right now.
White
nice color. no noticeable oxidation. After some initial funk, clean lemony nose with salt air & pine needles. Nice round mouth feel with good extract, minerals and finish of lemony rainwater washed over pebbles. Some spice I can't put my finger on..

some lemon on the nose. fairly tight, high acidity and linear green fruit with citrus hard earth and mineral. Opens a bit over time, Nice but doesn't have the weight and complexity of the Fourchaume tasted with it.

lemon herb, white flowers on the nose. lemony palate staining extract with long mineral finish. additional complexity as it warms in the glass with toasted herbs, earth, toast, wax and spice but still focused, precise and length with good minerality.
Red
nose of blueberries. quite a bit of fruit here with learther, earth, cedar, integrated oak and a long dark fruit filled and toasty finish wiht soft tannins. Lively, balanced, and silky. nice.

A 2004 surprise. Really no greenie meanies and a relatively light and sweet red fruit body with a nice finish. Not quite the hard earth and mineral I see from other producers but pleasing.

popped and poured from cellar. Nose has red fruit, herb, mineral and earth. Palate has red fruit structure and loads of minerals that go on through a long finish that goes on and changes with an increased taste of cherry fruit at the end. A lot there and I think this wine still has upside but delicious now.

nose has plums and hnts of spice. Quite round mouth with plum fruit, soft earth, and an orange spice black tea finish. This wine is round but no strong acid or heat at the end. I am normally somewhat unhappy with fruit this ripe but the balance and complexity would not have one mistake this for most CA pinots.
Red
Bottle has Vielle Vigne on it but posting it here. I think they were all VV. Nose reticent hard earth, whiffs of cherry. Structured and somewhat tight but obvious burgundy flavors, clean, bright and elegant with cherry, hard earth/iron and mineral on the finish. I probably should have decanted as this appeares to need some time..

earth spice nose. Very elegant and smooth but quite complex with layers of dried flower, leather, fruit, olives, earth, mineral, and red fruits. Not a lot of structure and not a heavy-weight modern barolo, but a tapestry of integrated flavors.

Initially oaky, rich with sweet fruit, it seemed to just gain in complexity with layers of blackberry cassis, earth, flowers with some vanilla oak. Quite smooth, very easy to drink. Modern style but still some of that background Sangiovese structure.
