2016 Domaine Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre Chardonnay

Quite pineappley and sweet and missing the minerality and direction compared to the 2015 Billaud’s Butteaux we had the night before. Didn’t enjoy this much.

1/27/20, 8:57 AM - I had a similar experience w this some months back. I am going to forget my only other bottle of this for the next few years and hope it gets better.

2013 Domaine Bernard Baudry Chinon Les Granges Cabernet Franc

Light ruby red colour with a familiar stinky nose. So much better on day 2 with flavour and structure. Would make a very good lunch wine.

2011 Lucien Muzard Santenay Les Champs Claude Vieilles Vignes Pinot Noir
My struggle with Burgundy Pinot continues. Decent wine, but nothing to rave about. The bouquet was closed. The taste was slightly fruity. But did not find this wine offering much despite getting heavy recommednation from the wine store. I continue to struggle with Pinot Noir from Burgundy which rarely live up to the hype and price they command. Just being honest here. I am suffering from the "emperor has no clothes" syndrome where I continue to be unimpressed by the lacklustre quality of Pinot Noir from this area despite the world widely acknowledging that this is the best area for such wines.

8/14/16, 9:48 PM - Kinda hard to find Burgundy that people rave about at this price point. 2011 was also a bit of a hit-or-miss vintage for the region ..

2014 Coudert Fleurie Clos de la Roilette Cuvée Tardive Gamay
I dont get it. Bought a case after reading all of these reviews here and JR, and for 13 Euros a bottle. Frankly it isn't worth it. Stings my nose and my tastebuds with acidic aggressive unpleasant stuff. 11 bottles now wonder into last corner of my cellar. Maybe in 10 years I will find it and be pleasantly surprised. Or maybe not.

4/5/16, 3:22 PM - I think it is supposed to need 5 to 7 years. I picked up 3 bottles last week (untested!). Glad to have read your review before I opened one ..
