For a bargain wine from Trader Joe's I found this to be surprisingly decent. The heavy berry notes and almost syrupy viscosity will not appeal to drinkers of lighter red wines. I've had better, but also more expensive Syrahs from Australia. I had this with a steak, and it needs a pairing with a lamb or beef in order not to overwhelm tastebuds. I will probably buy it again - for a price like this, it's worth it.
The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It tastes like blackberry. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

A sturdy oaked Chardonnay. The oak aroma was pronounced and fresh, slightly smoky. If you don't care for oak, then this is not the wine for you. However, served with smoked salmon, barbecued meats, or a rich cheddar, it would be delightful.

I tasted this wine at the Jackson Triggs winery at Niagara on the Lake. The wine is dry, but soft with a pronounced black cherry aroma and light chocolate notes. It is spicy and full bodied. My tasting partner and I looked at each other and immediately said 'lamb" as the perfect meal to serve with this wine.

Loved the depth of flavors. Chocolate, berry notes. Smooth finish. For a bargain wine, this was a very good purchase. I will buy again.
