Was expecting so much more... flat with citrus (lemon) and butter. Not nearly what I like in a white burgundy, just not hitting any notes.

Excellent white Bordeaux. Creamy, fresh with a bit of lemon. Perfect for chicken or seafood.

Better than I thought by a lot. Well balanced with nearly the weight of a cab franc but the texture of a Pinot Gris on the tounge.

Bright layered with citrus fruits and peach.

Somewhat tannic, but still not gripping.

Would pair well with seafood.

Easy drinking blend, fruit with baking spice. Solid finish.

Berries, Vanilla and earthy tones. Merlot dominates and this is just a great 30 dollar bottle.

Near the end of its peak, drink up.

Cherry was the bigger flavor.

Blueberry, Cedar, Casis and Anise... Great Cab that shows valley floor fruit forward (Stag's leap region) that is balanced with Merlot and Cab Franc. Drinking well young, highly doubt it will age like a Howell Mountain Cab.

Straight forward Zin Cab blend. Fruit forward, some cab but little tannin. Just OK, should drink the 2009 by the end of 2015.

Beautiful bouquet of berries and toasted oak...

Tasted unlike a Bordeaux or Napa Style blend. Had a very sharp finish, almost repulsive. Did not like and would not get again.

A very good value if you enjoy California blends. I've recently had several bottles of this and think it is drinking near its peak.

Fruit forward balanced with mild tannins give this red a medium to short finish. It is best enjoyed with food, I had it with short rib and it did not disappoint.

I would not buy this vintage (2010) after 2017... It should really be enjoyed young.

Frankly, I enjoyed it more than BV Tapestry and Beringer Quantum of the same year.

We really were surprised by this wine.

It has the classic fruit of a Napa cab, intermixed with some clove and menthol flavors (and in my opinion, this is why people think it's drinking hot).

There was one very distinct thing that stuck out to me, it had a buttery tasting mid palate that was just phenomenal to me. The finish was long.

I bought the last 3 bottles of the 09 I could get.

As with any young cab, we decanted an hour or two...it made a big difference.

First, the wine is still tight so rather than decanting the whole bottle, we went with the Vinturi Red Wine Aerator to open it up. We weren't sure how many glasses we would have, but we almost finished the bottle.

The fruit was forward and enjoyable, I tasted strawberry, and other dark berry fruit. No sour cherry which I often taste in Pinots from this region, which the wine maker worked out well.

Now for the oak, at first, the wine finished almost smokey. It wasn't bad, it just was a little more than I like in a Pinot Noir. After an hour, it was gone for us and the finish was just about right. There was a slight mineral taste, just like we have grown to enjoy the valley. It had an earthy component to it I just can't describe well, but it was well balanced.

We actually liked this Pinot a lot, compared to the Amici and Belle Glos that we have had recently.

It was well done and I think most people who like classic Pinots will enjoy this wine and you should like it more if you give it just an hour of time to breathe.

Decanted 2 hours. Soft, minearals dominate up front, mid palate has the slightest hint of sour cherry and red berries and then finishes long with a slight menthol linger.

It's young but much more approachable than the 10 was at this time. You definitely can taste the Cab Franc at this point (which I enjoy).

It's surely tasting Bordeaux like, and I've read others say more right bank. Rest assured, that taste is the cab franc, there is nothing that tastes Merlot like in this blend.

Will open my next bottle in 2-3 years...

Really opening up now, much better than it was a year ago.

Had it next to a caymus 40 year, loved the Forman.

Berry and cassis dominated the nose with a hint of cedar.

Not a fruit bomb, could taste the minerals and had a nice finish. Well balanced, really enjoyed this one.

A light to medium weight cab.

Smells of berry burst through, with hints of cocoa.

I love the old world style, but it is still way to tight, even after a 1-3 hour decant with tastings during intervals. Tannins are there, it has the backbone for 20-30 years of aging. This needs at least 3-5 more years in the bottle before I'll open another.

Still it's enjoyable but not as approachable as a Valley floor cab is early.

I'm sure in 5 years this will be a 94-95 point wine for me.

I bought a case to cellar...
