Charcoal and plum notes, with earthy undertones. Nice velvety mouthfeel. Medium finish. Probably best to drink up.

Over the hill. Thin and devoid of fruit and vibrant acidity, although some said it perked up after a few hours.

Pronounced cedar and eucalyptus upon opening, but blew off in 20 minutes. A well-balanced Insignia with no sharp angles. Blackcurrant and blackberry fruit was plush. Tannins fully integrated. Acidity was softer than I expected. I would not hold longer than 3 more years.

Very disappointing bottle. Disjointed, acidic, throwing sediment. Seems like it has just fallen apart into pieces.

Unremarkable, but delivered the appropriate violet and dried plum notes to make it a nice companion to a veal chop.

Dense and focused. Probably needed a little more cellar time or extended decant, however.

In a good place right now. Showing the sunny flavors of Tuscany with the terroir-driven notes of a left bank Bordeaux. Have yet to have a bad bottle of GdN from ANY vintage. 2000 is a hidden gem.

Offered nothing even after several hours in the decanter. A dud or dead. Don't think there's anything stirring underneath.

Tasted out of a thick glass at a local restaurant, which eliminated any chance to appreciate burgundian notes. But the guts and mouth feel were quite pleasant and correct.

Very "Runquist", with overdeveloped fruit and oak, but still manages to please those looking for hedonism. Fun wine when in the mood and a good value at $13.

I loved this wine! Interesting iodine and peat notes that buttressed over a river a plum and currant fruit. Long mocha finish. Purchased from a wine shop in The Rocks in Sydney in 2004. Great bottle.

Tannins fully resolved, but still plenty of black cherry and roasted plum fruit, with a mocha note. Velvety mouth feel. Excellent example of a perfectly aged Margaret River cab.

My score reflects the searing youthful tannins and currently rugged profile. If you are opening, I suggest a multi-hour decant. Best advice would be to cellar for another couple years, which I realize is unusual counsel for a zin. But this is a beast.

Needs to breathe for a few hours to get past the exotic almond and lavender notes. On the third day after opening, this was a very smooth and viscous chard, with plenty of ripe fruit in the middle, Drank like a 91-92p wine. In a precocious stage wight now.

Very pleasant to drink, but tannins are nearly fully depleted. Lots of lush blackberry coming through and tasted better without food. Had difficulty standing up to the grilled strip steak because of its soft structure. Drink up.
