Top wine, intense and long with hint of peach on palate, good acidity. Full body from start to finish. Lovely

Really nicely evolved cabernet showing some secondary cigar box complexity. Beautifully balanced wine that only improved with some air.

Fairly unexciting and dried out.

Really good. Colour surprisingly deep for its age. Crunchy acidity, nice fruit, reasonably long.

Opened tight and closed with firm but smooth tannins. After an hour, the wine had opened up nicely with trademark black fruits and tannins still firm but giving nice balance to the fruit which was still somewhat restrained. Nicely balanced wine with a lot of further ageing potential.

Lovely pale rose colour. On the palate crunchy acidity, minerals and restrained fruit. A bit of a tightly wound spring at he moment but very good indeed.

Really drinking well. Still a little austere but has lovely drying tannins on the finish. Quite Bordeaux like. Still plenty of life left in this.

Serious, complex, savoury and full bodied pinot. Really expensive but with Burgundian character of spice. Will go for years.

Gone past it. Green cabbage and not in a good way.

Perfectly in the drinking window. Lovely soft tannins, berry fruit, balanced and quite long. Delicious

Really nice aperitif wine. Crisp with floral hints, touch of sweetness balanced by acidity. A hint of chalky minerality on the palate. Pretty good entry level wine from a quality producer

Bought this on the strength of a high Decanter score. Having opened a bottle, I can see what the fuss is about. There is lovely dry spicy fruit on the palate with that lovely Languedoc dry dusty tannin. In this wine, there is restraint to the fruit power and it easily avoid feeling jammy or over alcoholic. You might be tempted to think of this a just a BBQ wine but there is something more lurking in the depths of the wine. For me, this kills most Bordeaux at the same price. Fantastic value for money.

This is drinking quite beautifully now. Some oak is evident but balanced well with the fruit. Not super complex but in the slightly creamy peach fruit spectrum. Nice acid balance indicates this still could hold for a few years. Good value for the money.

Really tight and structured wine with lovely acidity and minerality. Very young and needs more time to develop further complexity

This has lovely pale gold colour. On the palate salty mineral tang with acidity in balance. Beautiful mouthfeel with some texture, apple and citrus. Finishes quite long. Beautiful Chablis

I think this is trying to be like Sancerre and not succeeding. Searing acidity with characteristic unpleasant NZ SB grass / cat pee overlaid with interventionist winemaking all adding up to a most unpleasant melange. I suspect this is popular with hipster sommeliers, but not with me.

Really enjoyable Chenin. This is definitely less acidic than the Loire examples from Chidaine, but has a nice full palate with nice fruit and a touch of minerality. Quite good length. Based on the price, I would be happy to buy this every year if he decided to make it again.

This wine is still very tight. Not much forthcoming on the nose. Palate is firm, good acidity, mineral, saline character. I think it needs time to develop - almost as though the wine is holding back. Undoubted intensity is there. Began to open a little an hour after opening.

I am a big fan of this wine - great value for money in the context of 1er cru burg. Colour is pale gold. Beautiful fruit balanced with oak, full bodied and very persistent and long. Enjoyed more than the Pernot Puligny Folatieres we drank on Saturday.

This bottle is the best of three that I have tried. Previous examples have seemed prematurely aged. This bottle whilst still a gold colour has held together beautifully. Perfect balance between fruit and oak. A lovely acid backbone, laced with minerals. Good persistent finish. There is a kind of nervous tension in this wine which I love. Real class.

Really easy drinking. Not as focussed as the Brokenwood tasted alongside. Good fruit definition with some pear and tropical fruit hints.

Very classy chard. Pale colour. Nose a bit closed. On the palate, some lees, nice acid backbone. Still tight and needs further cellaring. Very good wine.

This is a nicely mature CdP. Spices on the nose follow up on the generous palate that has quite pronounced fruit. Almost goes into jamminess but holds back. Long finish, very delicious wine that gave great pleasure with a roast leg of lamb.

This is a very classy Coonawarra Cab. Quite austere but with very correct blackcurrant friut, lovely acidity and fine powdery tannins. Finishes long. Just a pup.

First impression is of sweetness in the front palate, this is nicely balanced by zingy acidity and a touch of minerality. Very well made wine but just too sweet for my taste.

This is a little expensive for what it delivers. Quite oak dominant, like a number of other NZ chardys I have tasted recently. Fruit struggles a bit under all the oak. Not quite balanced and not my preferred style

Absolutely gorgeous, supple and soft. I suspect this is drinking at its peak. Maybe lacks a slight bit of complexity but finishes nice and long.
Really good.

Lovely spicy nose, developed secondary characters on the palate mixed with lovely black fruits and a hint of liquorice. Very supple with smooth tannins, perhaps a bit loose knit but very hedonistic drink.

Horribly corked. Why oh why can't they use Stelvin for such delicate wines?

Cool climate syrah at the top of its game. Still deep plum colour. On the palate a slight hint of white pepper. This is a silky, hedonistic wine that is so supple, fine tannins underpinning plums and hint of spice. Smooth and long finish. This is the sort of wine that has disappeared from the bottle before you know it.

Lovely mineral Chablis with good intensity and length. A touch of honey on the palate as well. A really good companion to the Sydney Rock oysters we started on last night.

I first tried this at Lee Ho Fook last month and phoned the winery the next day to order a 1/2 dozen. A really silky pinot with good palate depth and some complexity. Finishes quite long. I reckon this wine is what they call "smashable"

Decanted an hour before serving. This wine was a disappointment, being somewhat hard and joyless. Fruit was not there - perhaps over the hill? Certainly did not live up to expectations.

Upon opening, a fair bit of bottle stink and sulphur apparent. Angular and acidic on the palate. Poured through an aerator into a jug and let it sit for 1/2 an hour. The stink dissipated and the wine changed quite appreciably, becoming softer and smoother. Had that typical iron character that Graillot often has. A really nice old bottle of Syrah.

Colour very correct medium red. Classic pinot nose of strawberry. Beautiful silky mouthfeel, just lacking the depth and complexity of more illustrious neighbours. Finishes reasonably long but a touch simple. Really good for its appelation.
