This Ribera del Duero keeps perfectly the balance. Yes, it is black and bold. There is cherries and vanilla. But there is also a wonderful freshness and minerality playing aginst the heavy weight. The tannnis are fine and well integrated. Drinks already very well. But can pe put in the cellar for some years.

This Bandol starts to show its beauty. Very big nose of minerality. Strongly structured. Good mouth feel. After some rather diasspaointing reds from this admirable producer, this is again a top notch. Bravo! Drink now and over the next 5 to 10 years.

More than 90% Syrah. Starts to show already its beauty after some time in the glass. Impressive big nose of concentrated fruit, fresh spices and minerality. Strongly structured. Good mouth feel. Different than Syrah from Northern Rhône but very delicious. Drink now and over the next 10 years.

This Margaux drinks perfectly now and delivers everything you expect. Immediately open for business. Lovely nose of leather, cigar box and dark fruit. Fresh taste with still quite some noticeable tannins. Medium long finish. Drink now and over the next 5 years. No further improvement expected.

In full accordance with previous notes. A wonderfully drinking C9dP. Nothin extremely outstanding (but probably the best the vintage serves), but very good quality.

Drank over 3 days. Initial impression was that this is a compact wine, almost compressed. Dark black fruits. Earth. 2nd day: red fruits popped up. But also rather oaky. 3rd day: best performance. Now a typical Médoc. Tannins still grainy. Will need some time to be really enjoyable.

This is a nice Chardonnay from Burgundy. Nose comes with toasted oak and yellow fruits. Taste is creamy but comes with a good acidity backbone. Lacks a bit of personality and minerality. Slightly over-oaked.

A wonderful effort from this unique producer. The nose is rather on the herbaceous side with lots of Provençal herbs, paired with a superb mineral and earthy character played by a wet stone / béton character. The background shows some caramel.
It presence well balanced on the palate, almost a lovely chewy texture. Tannins show a medium to fine grain. Great mixture of herbs, dark fruits and minerals. Lengthy enjoyable finish. This ist still so young and unbelievably fresh. I will forget my other bottles for a while! Chapeau Pibarnon!

Nose comes with cooked dark fruits, almost plummy. Reminds of an (overheated) Bandol. The oak ist still present. On the palate, rather austere with a short to medium finish. Goes well with steak, but not a wine to talk about.

New world style from new world. Pressing fruity nose. Lots of raspberry. Cinnamon. All embedded in a creamy character. On the palate, the wine is very easy to drink. It wants to be pleasing. Everything in balance, acidity, tannins and fruit. Though not my style, this is well done.

Wine was already over the peak though not dead. But still I doubt that this was ever a winner. Nose comes with some herbal and dusty notes (quite one-dimensional). Palate better but quite rough. The potential of this lovely region was not exhausted.

Great example that you can rely on Bordeaux wines even from lean vintages. The wine is almost 40 years old and shows no signs of oxidation. It is fully tertiary, fruit almost completely faded away. The structure is rather lean. But still the aromatic bundle is very attractive. Still good life in it.

This phenomenal beauty is a blend of multiple vineyards of Chateauneuf-du-Pape. It needs some time to open up and to show its first great impressions. Primary Grenache fruit mixed with fresh and intense Provence herbs and spices. The structure is marvellous, already so fine and elegant. The tannins have already started dancing... Finish: not ending...
Chateauneuf at its best. Hide the bottle in the cellar for multiples of years to let this beauty evolve! 95-98
