This wine made a great appetizer wine. The fruit is very ripe but there is enough acid to carry it through. Beautiful finish. Worked very well with the Quail Wellington. (Cornutt)

There was bottle variation here and an unacceptable rate of oxidation. 20% almost. The good bottles show sparkling white stone fruit with minerals and complexity. A Grand Cru length. There were no undrinkable bottles but the early oxidized bottles had lost their vibrancy and complexity. More nutty nuance. (Cornutt)

Terrific nose. Rich darker yellow fruit. A sense of power on both the nose and palate. Full and oily in the mouth. Bursting with powerful yellow fruit and finishing with power. Fantastic! (cornutt)

This wine will be almost perfect Grands Echezeaux with a little more time. Gorgeous nose. Darker fruit with a precise presentation. Some notes of truffle. Complex. The palate is powerful but shows a special velvety texture that only
exist with the highest order of Burgundy. Jayer/Rousseau/DRC Incredible balance. The finish goes forever. This is absolutely stunning and a real treat to taste even at this very early date. (Cornutt)

Last magnum from the Grand Conseil. This was provided to the officers. Red fruit. So beautiful and precise. The palate is loaded with red fruit and some element of mineral. Youthful but so satisfying. Fabulous. (Cornutt)

Provided to the new initiates at our Chapitre. This was a great bottle. The aromas are red fruit wrapped in earthy accents. The palate is so open and sexy. Very red fruit. Finishes with some length. The only nit is a hint of rusticity to the palate fruit but that is minimal. Very nice!

Drank in advance of the upcoming Spring Paulee. Still hanging in there - advanced color and aromas, but in character for a wine of this age and breeding. Loads of minerality - pretty much the main characteristic at this point along with hints of caramel.

Ruby color; no bricking around the rim. Medium concentration and viscosity. Powerful earthy nose with some floral character. Soft tannins along with moderate to high acid. Angular, fleshy mouthfeel. Moderate complexity. Fully mature bordering on over the hill.

Straw color and pale concentration. Moderate floral and mineral nose - peaches, white flowers and stones. Light body and low acidity...somewhat flabby. Hints of oxidation but not overly so. Fully mature wine.

Clear yellow in color. Flinty nose of moderate intensity; along with elements of grapefruit. On the palate, the flinty character continues along with saline. Medium body and tart acidity with an angular mouth feel. Long and complex finish. Youthful; still needs time to round out.

Tasted at Capital City Club for the upcoming Chapitre Dinner. Beautiful ruby color with no bricking at the edges despite the age. Mature nose with secondary characteristics - aromas of fig, soy, and forest floor with some sour cherry as it opens up. Medium body, length, and acidity with smooth texture on the palate. Needed time in the glass to fully open up. Lovely wine. Drink now through 2018

Still very young and structured. Great fruit with cherry on the nose. A pleasant note of truffle and earthiness. Should last for 10 more years. Tasted twice with similar notes, but we had a slightly off bottle out of 6 drunk as well.

The wine improved noticeably after an hour in the glass. The nose still has hints of pear and vanilla but is more butterscotch. Still very structured. The good bottles were very good and seem young, but almost 50% of the bottles opened for a large dinner were oxidized.

A gorgeous nose. Golden fruit and an element of truffle that indicates aged White Burg.
The palate shows quite a bit of acid but it is buffered by gorgeous fruit. The finish is loaded with minerals.

When poured, this wine had a distinct barnyard nose which dissipated in the glass over time. There were nice hints of violets and black cherries on the palate and it had a reasonable finish for a wine of its pedigree. This will not get better with more age and should probably be drunk soon.

Golden color with a light hue. Fantastic on the nose.
Not a hint of oxidation. Rich golden fruit and an element of minerality here.
The palate is focused and rich at the same time. Riper white fruit.
The length here is very nice and finishes with a kind of slate like minerality.
Wonderful.

After being open two and a half hours, the nose was still fairly closed, and on the palate it was just starting to soften and round into shape. But it was still quite austere and taut, though the black fruits were becoming noticeable, and the finish was lengthening. It is a real baby, and I think it will be better in 4-5- years.
