Quite a lovely drink. With friends who are used to Sonoma County Pinot Noir and it was definitely a step above. Medium ruby, rich nose, elegant finish that lasted a long time. Will probably keep but very nice right now.

Really nice wine. Opened after 30 minutes, plenty of CDP spice, tannins appear fully resolved. Fully mature for my taste. I still have a couple and will drink over the next 12 months.

Decanted for one hour. Needed much more time. Nose started to open after an hour. Fruit, tannin all there and in balance. This is a super wine but muscular and needs 3-5 years to show.

Sometimes we have a night with an extraordinary wine and this was last night. Cork was semi saturated but came out cleanly with an Ah-So. Light ruby and the nose started to open immediately. Decided against a decant and left it open for one hour. Translucent and drank very well right from the start. It was like a bowl of roses, extremely elegant and the finish seemed like it went on for 60 seconds. As fine a bottle of burgundy as I have ever had. Purchased three at release in 1998. Opened the first one two years ago at age 20 and it was disappointing, good drink but a bit off. Still have one left. This wine seems fully mature to me but definitely not over the hill. I would drink now.

Difficult cork but the ah-so to the rescue! Dark orange, nice nose but not really an enjoyable wine. Probably best 10 years ago.

Medium ruby, cork failed at a restaurant. Server was going to do it his way rather than use an ah-so as I requested. All was saved. Decanted and opened up within 30 minutes. Full bodied, balanced, tannins mostly resolved. Elegant drink and nose. Everything I want from a mature Bordeaux. I would enjoy now.

flawed
This wine has been very consistent for me. I purchased a case at release but did not open the first for about five years. I have now opened 10 bottles and every single one has been flawed. Serious Brett and an awful nose makes this undrinkable for me.
