Blueberries, floral notes, cedar and cherry kernels. Elegant with the smoothest tannins I have had in a long time. Have aged wonderfully. Drink now.

Very light brick red color. Elegant, more like a Barbaresco. Had aged well. Drink now.

Color a bit more yellow than expected. Typical Riesling nose with mineral and hints of petroleum. A disappointment to taste. Lack the acidity and vigor. A bit dull and plain. Could be just this bottle, which I hope as I have a few more.

Beautiful brick colour, surprisingly deep for a Barolo. Intense aromas of mushroom and truffle. Wood and cherry kernels. Sturdy but polished tannins. High acidity and long finish. An excellent wine of the new school.

Brownish color indicating maturity. Typical nebbiolo nose with roses, cedar and cherry kernels. Medium acidity for nebbiolo, velvety tannins and great structure. Not the concentration or “punch” you can get from other premium Barolos but a ver good wine. Drinks well now.

Very small nose, not much of anything. Not that it had gone bad, just smellt diluted. Very litttle swetness. Hanve gone dull. This bottle was Selling at rather low price and I now understand why.

A pleasant surprise. Even took up a reserve from the cellar just in case. Schoolbook nose of a mature Bordeaux. Cedar, barnyard, wood and cassis. Velvety tannins and surprising length. Have matured extremely well. Pity this was the last bottle.

Beautiful dark amber, almost brownish, color. So distinctively deeper compared with the other bottles that I almost suspect it might have gone bad. Marvelous nose with lots going on. Plenty of apricots, honey, and marmalade. The botrytis is not so very prominent in this bottle. Good balance and not overly sweet as Suduiraut can be. A truly remarkable bottle.

Blood red with brick edges. Nose somewhat austere with dark fruit, roasted wood and hint of spices. Well build with silky tannins and god peppery finish. Lack the concentration that the better Brunellos have but very good for the price.

As expected. Full bodied Chardonnay with distinct roasted oak, minerals and citrus. Handle the high alcohol quite well so the balance is very good. Long and powerful finish.

Blood red with hints of brick at the edges. Typical nose of a Bordeaux with some age. Some barnyard, leather, wood, cassis and pencil. Stable acids, smooth and integrated tannins. The fruit is really diminishing and the finish, although quite long, are somewhat a little to alcohol dominated. This is the last bottle out of 12. Clearly it peaked some tears ago, at least according to my palate, but have been interesting to follow the development since i bought them 8 years ago.

Had some left since Easter dinner (3 days before). Deep yellow almost straw colored. Typical sweet Chenin nose with citrus, almonds and hint of wet wool. The trace of oxidation we noticed before is gone. Excellent balance between sweetness and acidity. Not overly sweet though. Long finish. Just had a glass on its own in the evening and that worked perfect. Get one more point than when opened.

Closed and difficult to pick out any specific notes apart from oak and some vanilla initially. Opened up during the evening but remained a little subdued. Did not show the typical aged Cab notes. Well build an all components in the right place but almost a little boring. I think I prefer them a little younger.

Big complex nose with nuts, apricot, wet wool and a hint of oxidation. Not overly sweet but with a sturdy backbone of pleasant acidity. Worked perfectly with the dessert. Exciting and very special wine.

Dark red color with meat, white pepper and dark fruit. Very good structure and well balanced fruit. A classic northern Rhone without the excess of fruit sometimes found in cheaper copies. High class bottle that drinks well now but will improve another 2-4 years.

Now this is amazing. This Amarone when young was very "populistic". Dominating fruit, almost a hint of sweetness and distinct alcohol. Now after twelve year it has become a stringent, elegant and well balanced sophisticated Amarone. The fruit have lost its sweetness and is not as dominant. Tannins and acids still there and in excellent harmony with the rest. A very good Venetian representative in pair with friends costing 3-4 times more.

The nose was fantastic and no sign of oxidation. Taste closed and a hint of unpleasant earthiness immediately after opening. That disappeared after a while. This bottle was very enjoyable with a nice balance of fruit, acidity and maturity. Was a little sceptic to whether this one would have survived after several of my older Chablis have gone into the sink. Chablis seem be more sensitive to ageing than for example Riesling.

Typical Chianti nose with lots of dark berries, cedar and earth. Shows sign of maturity and have an excellent balance between fruit, tannins and acidity. According to my palate I would say that this is peaking now. Might hold well for one or two more years.

Deep purple blue color. Young and vigorous nose with blackcurrant, leather and spices. Very expressive and lively taste with a sting of alcohol at the end. Medium long finish. A bit unruly in the beginning but something that settled down after an hour or two. A well build Bordeaux with a promising future. Tasted excellent day 2. Better than expected but the remaining bottles will be saved another 3-5 years.

Red color with brown rim. The nose is a little shy in the beginning but opened up marvelously in the glass with lots of raisins, figs, vanilla and wood. Elegant and complete, the fruit, tannins and alcohol in perfect balance. Not the sweet fruity stuff that you can find in some Amarones. Long exquisite finish. Had this wine 09 and 11 but this time it is so much better. Probably the best Amarone I have had.

Dark dark red. One of the densest wine i have seen. An almost sweet, fruity nose mixed with barnyard, oak and leather. Full bodied but extremely pleasant and well balanced. Have matured well and might be at its peak, at least according to my palette.

Deep red-purple color with a hint of brick at the end. Dark berries, bramble and oak. Concentrated, dense with good, powerful yet velvety, silky tannins. Full bodied wine with good length. Could be taken for a good Cab with some maturity but the color give it away. Drinks very well right now. Winner of the evening.

Red color. Opened up rather quick with tones of wild raspberries, earth and oak. Overall a mature nose. Well integrated with solid tannins and good mature fruit in the background. Elegant and with medium long finish. Well balanced now and probably at its peak. Schoolbook Burgundy that illustrates well what old world Pinots are all about.

This is more like it. My previous bottle about two months ago was a huge disappointment. Lots of minerals and distinct citrus. Rich palate with good acidity and minerals. Medium long finish. Very good schoolbook Chablis with better concentration than an average premier cru.

A little closed initially but opened up after a couple of hours in the decanter. Rasberries, red fruit and hint of wood. very elegant with subdued fruit. Medium bodied, elegant and well balanced. Almost a little austere but without being closed. What strikes me is the elegance. Have quite a lot of new world Pinots lately but this Frenchman shows who's the boss. Cote d'Or delivers!

Saved this for my sons 18th birthday as they are of the same vintage. Fantastic nose with pencil, wood and barnyard. Well integrated tannins but a little hollow in the middle, length quite OK. Have aged with dignity but peaked some time ago. Although a very pleasant experience.

Deep red. A little closed at the nose even after three hours in the decanter. Some dark berries, tar, wood. Opened up a little during the evening. Very powerful palate with potent tannins although velvety. Very long finish. Surprisingly "young" despite being a decade old. Very promising for the future.

Deep red with a brownish hint at the edges. Fantastic nose with viol, wood, vanilla, some cherry. The palate is very mature with some cherry and earthiness. Very smooth tannins but somewhat low on acidity, short. The nose promised a lot but the structure has weakened over the years. This wine is enjoyable but probably peaked 1-2 years ago. Drink now.

Deep yellow color. Fantastic nose with petroleum, citrus and minerality. Unfortunately the acid is no longer there. Short and flat. You can still feel that there is a good structure there but it doesn't help when the backbone acidity is gone. A pity. Had the same wine three months ago and that bottle was alive and kicking.

Yellow color with a distinct nose of minerals and citrus. Totally dry and in perfect balance. Shows vitality and vigor. Great length. Have several types of Chablis from Clotilde Davenne but unfortunately quite a number of them have gone bad after only a few years in the cellar. She is significantly over represented in the “gone bad league”. By reading the taste note from Ramberg on this very wine I suspect that is what happened to him. This bottle on the other hand was absolutely flawless and a good representative for how a Les Clos Chablis should taste. I am not purchasing any more Chablis from Davenne though, too risky.

Dull, tired and hint of wet blanket. Surprised that a premiere cru from a good producer havent survived better despite optimal conditions. The bottle was not flawed, just lost its vigour and freshness.

Barely drinkable. Not really flawed but slightly oxidized and dusty. Have realized that storing Chablis, although perfect conditions, is a gamble. Chablis is by far the wine that I have had to pour into the sink most time.
