Purchased on release and a half bottle. She’s beginning to drink well now but it’s still young. Decanted about one hour. nice crunchy red fruit little thin on the body, solid tannins, nice cedar on the nose. Needs a few more years to really begin to open up, I would hold for another five years.

Bought on release. The show promise is one of the better ones at the vintage. Right now it is minimal character attractiveness. No web pencil or tobacco to speak of. Boring boring wine.

Drinking great. Huge tobacco nose after 1+ hour decanting. Nice fruit on the palace. Long polished finish. Really just grand and the best 02 I have tasted. Wish my whole cellar was filled with this. Will drink well for another 10+ years.

From a Mag bought on release. Great red color. Nice nose but not too complex. Not overripe. Not over the hill. Has 5+ years left. Needed decanting of 1-2 hrs. fruit opened up. Not a lot of secondary flavors. Other vintages have had more but still a very elegant wine. crowd pleaser.

Beautiful ruby red color. Nose is shut down hard. Somewhat closed on the palate. Open with time, strawberry and red cranberry. Lots of tannins. opens up a bit over time with expresso on the nose. Hope its balanced between the tannins and fruit because there are tons of tannins. This needs lots of time. Great rosso.

Tasted in Bordeaux at L'Envers du Decor. Decanted. Dark black color and fading at the rim. Open almost from the get go. Blackberry and stones on the nose. On the palate a really elegant wine with a modestly long finish. Opened up and got better through the night. Drinks great now. Hard to see it improving - perhaps a touch. Drink now and over the next 10-15 years.

Great Cotes. A Cornas for sure. Decanted 2 hrs. Beautiful dark red color. At opening, the wine had a great herbly nose of tar, tobacco, red fruits. After time in the decanter, the nose mellowed and integrated (liked it better at first). Nice red currant on the palate, good concentration. Medium long finish. Generally ripe tanins but somewhat chalky at times. Good structure. Very enjoyable now, but you can sense it will develop a lot in the bottle after 3+ years. Great value wine. Happy I have a case. 92pts for now but could move up if it develops more complexity on the palate and nose.

Decanted 2hrs. Modest blackberry and tobacco on the nose. Similar on the palate. Good density for a 99. Modest finish. Great food wine. Wanted more intensity or complexity for a higher score, but not there. Very solid wine. Great with food. Good value for a Leoville. Drink now or over next 10 years.

Love this wine. It always performs. Deep rich color. Broad blue fruits on the nose, blueberry, blackberry. Lavender. On the palate. Similar. Not a huge tarry monster. Modest finish. Decent acidity. Outperforms its ranking very much. Drink up now but will last 5+ years, but why wait.
