This is an ager. Fantastic! Drink with a big decant and wait another 10 years for this beauty to peak!

Great nose of bing cherry and strawberry shortcake. On the lighter side for a BdM but very elegant and smooth. Fantastic wine. I thought it was in its prime 3 years ago, and believe it still is!

Decanted for about an hour and this was signing. Still very young, but this had the most expressive nose of black fruits and spice. Licorice, cola, vanilla weaved in between the massive black and blue berry flavors. Great acidity and moderate tannin added some refined edginess. Paired beautifully with a filet but to be honest I drank most of it on its own, as it was too good to share the spot light. I can't wait to open my 12s and 13s which are still in storage. I wish i had more of this 14...

Had my first experience with a 2017 last week and loved it, so I picked up a few 2018s and while good, I think it's just too young. Going to leave the other 2 in the cellar for a year.

Time does this beauty well! The nose is incredibly intoxicating with dark berries, menthol, licorice and spices. Bold body of silky black fruits. This has got to be peaking. Tannins are fully integrated, and this wine sings! Long 20-30 second finish.

Had next to a Seghesio (a favorite of ours) and this was certainly a step above. For the extra $5, certainly work it and will work its way into our weekday wine rotation. Big, bold yet smooth and balanced. This is a great Zin! Too bad I only had one of them in my fridge which I picked up last year sometime. Going to go pick up a few of the 18s that are out now.

Much more elegant with its age, but that nose is just as intoxicating! Still so much going on. Silky smooth, tons of depth and brilliant flavors. Too many post dinner drinks to give a proper review lol.

What a gorgeous wine. Much more elegant at this stage of its life, where as I think I preferred it more in its youth when it had a bit more bite. Still incredible! This was our Super Bowl wine, and I didn't take any formal notes.

One of the most intoxicating noses I’ve ever experienced from a BdM. Black cherry and raspberry, spices, licorice with a hint of earth as it opened up over the course of the evening. Still has quite a good backbone with solid tannin, but paired so well homemade spaghetti and meatballs. I picked this up for about half it’s average value, but I’m still not comveniced it’s a great QPR. Can’t wait to see how my next bottle evolves in another few years.

So young, but beautiful. Dark fruit, licorice, oak and earth. Good structure, integrated tannin. Balanced and delicious. Drinking a so well young, but this could go another 6-10 years.

Wow! I definitely would mistake this for a Napa Cab! Big nose of dark berries, cherry cola, licorice, and cigar ash, but there’s an initial funk, that while not appealing, fades immediately to the good stuff. Body is big an continues with more dark fruit and dusty tannins (but this is a made from Rutherford grapes if memory serves me). Excellent value and a lot of fun to see if you can fool a Napa Cab lover.

With thanksgiving dinner. Decanted for an hour, this was silky smooth. So balanced with red cherries, silky smooth tannins and acidity. At its peak for sure!

A typical big Mike wine! I found this much more approachable than the ‘17 Myriad cab, but it probably won’t compete with the character of the Myriad come 2 years. Either way, very good. Loads of dark fruit; it’s heavy and intense, but balanced. Enjoyable from the nose to the long finish!

Dry fruits. Lots of berries, with some floral notes and a hint of orange peel. Really good and a unique wine that I’ll certainly buy again!

Really tight. Dark fruit with a hint of menthol on the nose. More dark fruit makes up the body. Good acidity and moderate tannin. Curious to see how this evolves into tomorrow and I’ll probably let my remaining bottles sit for at least 6 months but this has structure to go for years.

PnP, this is still way too young, but still drank well. Black and blue fruits on the nose. There’s this unique BBQ smoke on the mid palate into the finish that’s a surprising layer, amongst all the fruit. I’ll let my other bottle sleep for a year or two and see what comes.

Full bodied, with loads of fruit. Pear and tropical notes fill your nose and palate. Not as crisp as most S.Bs but still balanced and delicious.

Dark blue fruits on the nose with a slight floral note. Big, bold and dense, but well balanced. Integrated tannins. I was very surprised at how well this is drinking so young, but Mike's wines do lean that way! I'm sure this will last for several years, but with a brief decant, this is so enjoyable!

With a short decant, this is singing with bright red berries. A 2nd layer of herbs and flowers follow the fruit. Fully integrated tannins. It’s so soft and incredibly delicate for a cab. I usually prefer a more full throttle cab, but this is still such a joy to drink.

Dark fruit with hints of leather, tar and smoke on the nose. Not the most complex, but a joy to sniff and savor. Full bodied, great balance of fruit, acidity and silky smooth tannins. Drinking really well with a brief decant.

Beautiful red berries on the nose. This is my first time with this vintage, and also the first time tasting a Hartford Court wine at the 5+ year mark and age has done it wonders. So soft and silky. Balanced fruit, good acidity and a hint of earth. A great balance between sweet and savory components. Long finish. Certainly in its prime!

New case of 2017s came in this week, and this doesn’t disappoint! An hour decant. Classic Bacigalupi with dark berries, red plum, licorice and tar. So much flavor! A great RR style that’s fruit forward but has depth and complexity. It doesn’t get much better than this for the price point!

Only had 30 min a decant. Big and bold, dark fruit, licorice, cola, oak. Got better with time. Probably could have used a few hours of air, but still an amazing wine.

4+ years since my last bottle, and a good improvement from what I remember. Incredible nose of blue fruits. Licorice, leather and dark berries make up a full bodied wine, that’s well balanced with good acidity and well integrated tannins. Not sure if this would get any better, but it will easily last several more years.

Decanted for an hour. Dark fruit and hint of licorice on the nose. Huge body, filled with fruit. Just gorgeous. Just enough acidity to balance out the fruit. Tannins are well integrated, but make themselves known near the finish. I’ll give it at year before my next bottle, and probably another year before my last, which should continue to improve and evolve.

Wow has this improved! PnP which held this back a little. While the nose is a little muted, a had a big body with bold red and black berries. Integrated tannins and good acidity. Long finish. A great improvement since 3 years ago. Gives me great hope for aging my 12s and 13s for several more years.

Not a fan. Super funky nose. Body has some decent red berries to start, but the finish leaves a cough syrup note in your mouth. Wife actually spit it out. I finished my glass, but the rest of the bottle went down the sink. Very disappointed.

I really wanted to give this another point after 2 years, but not sure it’s quite there yet. Still believe it’s a slight improvement over my 91-92 rating back in 2017 as the jammy-ness is gone and there’s more balance. Beautiful soft nose of raspberry and spices. Medium body, with more red berries. Integrated tannins and balanced acidity. Really enjoyable and can probably go another 2-4 years. Solid 92/92+

Big beautiful nose filled with black and blue fruits. Juicy blackberry and blue raspberry. Leather and white pepper. Medium plus body, with a ton of flavor. Moderate tannin and balanced acidity. Good 20-30 second finish. Will keep my last bottle for at least another couple years and hope this evolves a bit more.

Decanted for an hour. Just gorgeous. Nose has a hint of aged funk that gives way to dark fruits, tobacco and leather. Huge body, big and dark. Tannins are still pretty prominent but they take a back seat to the fruit. Could easily age another 5 years. I absolutely love Foley’s Cabs and PS. They always leave you wanting another sip.

A mature cab, that has evolved into a stunning wine! Wild berries, plum, leather, licorice and rose petals on the nose. A massive body that is so well balanced between fruit, earth, woods, spices and probably some sensations I’ve never even experienced, lol. A forever finish. While I typically prefer my naps cabs on the younger side, I have zero complaints/issues for have kept this to the 10 year mark.

Back to the Nunes I know and love! Even opened a second bottle after we finished this one (from a separate shipment) and both were amazing. My last bottle was obviously off a little. Quite big and bold for a PN with classic RR berries with just a hint of earthiness and chard wood. Give it 30-60 minutes of air.

Just incredible! Nose has dark fruit, licorice, leather and smoked meat. Big and bold body with blackberries, blue raspberry, tar and ash. Huge mouthfeel and the finish never seems to end. I would have figured it’d be a little softer that it is, given my notes from 4 and then 2 years ago, but there’s still some great structure to it. Good acidity and medium, yet well integrated tannin. Easily has many more years ahead! 1 bottle left that I’ll keep for at least another 3 years and maybe drink on its 10th birthday.

Green nose which isn’t very appealing to me. Body is light with red berries. No tannin, little acidity and a short finish. Disappointed in my first 2016 bottle (of 9!!!!). The 2015 was such a different beast so I’m hoping these fatten up a little bit. Il Try again late 2019.

Always a solid choice! Been a fan since the ‘11 and been collecting since the ‘12. This is great young, with silky smooth red berries, good acidity, and moderate yet integrated tannin. Love drinking these young, but they tend to peak after 6-8 years of sleep, so I always buy a few of them ;)

Hitting a beautiful stride! Decanted for 30 minutes and this was singing. Rich, silky smooth red berries, with hints of cigar ash and smoked meat. So smooth with a great finish. I wish this wasn't my last bottle :( It could probably go another few years, but I doubt it would get much better than this.

Big improvement after a year! Load of fruit with spices, leather and earth. Balanced tannin and acidity, this Syrah has really rounded out since a year ago. Kinda regret only buying one of the 17s, but I’ll make sure to keep it sleeping for a least a year!
