Black currant and cherry, balanced with lighter side of tannins but needs time to open. Easily paintable with spicy and full meal, not quite at a rib-eye level.

Young still, big alcohol but very well balanced with the tannins and fruit. More powerful than expected with its moderately light nose. I will enjoy over the next 10-15+ years. Wish i had more.

Simply luscious. If you have never tried a Tannat, you should. Imagine blackberry with dark chocolate and a moderate tannic finish.

Superb. Deep ripe sour cherry red, nearly black in the elegantly shaped bottle. Slightly more fruit than the 2005, however, tantalizing on the nose, long on the finish, very well balanced, and opens well after a half hour. Best enjoyed over winter game dishes or an extended evening with close friends. The Tannat grape is often blended due to its high tannin levels, however, Argentina's El Provenir knows how to shape this wine into one of my absolutely favorites. Looking forward to watching it grow over the course of 5-10+ years.

Consistently below expectations - heavy fruit, bordering on a certain W-branded grape juice, wth little shiraz spice and flat on the nose. Good for the average drinker and/or a dinner party but definitely overrated by "those who know".

Nice fruit/earth/tannin balance with a slight spice and cherry hint.

An absolute stunning wine. Very dry full body with lingering tannins, cherry wood and plum, slightly high alcohol at 14.3% with plenty of cellaring time still available. A shame to open the only bottle now. The vineyard is a must visit in the Cafayate region in the north and the tasting room staff are very friendly. Tannat is for cabernet sav lovers who like a very full body but appreciate a little fruit.

Surprisingly not living up to expectations. Clearly represented as a 91 PPoint wine but behaving closer to 89/88, perhaps a little lower. Could be a bad bottle and will retaste at a later date.

wow - a lovely, medium bodied, light tannin, hints of vanilla and spice, a delight to cellar for a year or two and then enjoy for a long time. This is a bottle that amazingly compares to the 04 Reserve, albeit lighter, yet its nearly half the price.
