Not sure this is going to improve more with age. Felt a little tired. Not over the hill, but I wouldn’t keep these in the back of the cellar anymore.

Rich and mouth filling. Great balance of acidity with the subtle fruit and yeast profile. Very unique, soft, coating mouthfeel. No hard edges. Long long finish.

Really enjoyable. Red and blue fruits and a steak of tobacco. Nice acidity and strong tannic backbone. Drink over next 5 years

Way different than the last bottle and confirmed my suspect that the last one was cooked. Plum, sweet chocolate, eucalyptus and a little bit of wild strawberries. Palate is seamless. Great acidity and tannins. Dark fruits, tea and medium plus finish. This has a few years left before peaking. Built for long haul.

Agree with the notes below. Mixed blue and red fruit, tending to more red fruit. Some bramble. Lots of iron. Nice acidity and grippy on the long long finish. Very enjoyable and a silly QPR. Eager to the balance of the 12s and 13 expositions.

No formal notes taken. Slightly different style than the original KL, but very enjoyable. Well structured, with black fruits and acidity. Everything was in balance, with no harsh tannins or alcohol peeking through. Enjoyable now but has the stuffing to lay down for another 5 years.

Suspect this was a cooked bottle. Stewed fruit. No acidity. Seems atypical for the style Morgan has. Have another bottle and eager to try it.

In a very nice place right now. Opens up soft, with dark cherries and smooth palate. Puts on some weight with air, with the tell tale cedar/spicy wood flavor of KL. Tannins become more present with time, but dont dominate the gentle fruit. This is drinking at peak right now, but not fading any time soon. Very enjoyable.

Delicate wine. Not an over extracted Napa powerhouse. Nose is deceivingly alcoholic but maybe that resolves. Who knows. Palate has sweet red fruit, with a hint of tart blue fruit, cinnamon, clove and cedar. Both acidity and tannin are subtle, but enough to support the fruit profile. Nicely balanced. Medium+ finish, with sweet tannins coming through. Not sure this improves anymore, but it’s not going to fade anytime soon. Happy to have a half case left

Fully mature to my taste, but in doesnt feel like it will decline for several years. Pours a medium purple, and takes ~30 min to open in the glass. Very signature Karl Lawrence wines for those who are familiar with the winery. Earthy nose, with spicy red fruit. Palate has red fruit, earth....and a previous note nailed it with plum skin. There is a wood (not oak) profile that I always pick up in KL wines...almost like sawdust, and coffee grounds, but enjoyable. Classically styled. Still has a solid tanic backbone and lively acidity. Very enjoyable and its a shame they ended this project. My last bottle is a mag and will visit in 2020.

Nose is still shut down but palate shows promise. Dark fruit, earth and tobacco with an acid and tannnic back bone. Needs time but a lot of upside potential. Great, if not amazing, QPR.

Odd bottle. Seemed very tight at first after 30 min decant. Nose of blue fruits and violets. Palate of blue fruits, stone and ink. Glycerine on the tongue with good acid and tannin balance. Enjoyable without being too complex. As it continued to open, it became a little thin and hot on the finish. Unlike any other bedrock Syrah I’ve had. Will revisit remaining bottles in near term to re-evaluate. In any event - remains one of my favorite QPRs each year.

Four hour slow ox followed by 30 min decant. Pretty young still but still a show stopper. Laser beam of dark and red fruits. Well integrated tannins that show up and clench down on the finish. Nose was very reticent. Started to show down half way through the bottle.

Initially, the other recent notes were pretty accurate. A little flabby as well. But the more this opened, the quicker it got oxidized. Cork looked in tact. Seemed flawed.

From magnum. Still pours dark purple with no noticeable signs of bricking. Good mix of dark and red fruit, with the classic KL signature flavor of wood/cedar spice . Was a little light and flabby at first but quickly put on weight and showed good structure with a little time in the glass. Tannins have integrated well at this point. I dont see this getting any better at this point, but still has life left in it. N

Too young and primal to score fairly. Had this on pop and pour. As mentioned by others, pours pitch black. Mouth coating. Dark fruit and perfume. The tannins are prevalent as in most PS wines, but seemed liked they would integrate well over time. A bit disjointed right now with alcohol coming through on the long finish. Got better with air. Has tons of potential. Excited to have more in the cellar.

Seems like my taste preferences have shifted. Still a good wine, but not in my wheelhouse. The eucalyptus and hints of bell pepper are a bit of a turn off for me. Still, the bright red fruit, tannins and acidity all play in good harmony. If you are a fan of Chilean cabs, this is for you. Enjoyable, but would rather have a good BDX or Napa cab.

Surprisingly good. Starts very alcoholic, to the point of not being able to look past it. After a few hours it starts to settle down and show its fruit. Clean pure fruit with some complexity. Strong tannic bite on the finish. Has some time to go. Decant for a couple hours if opening now.

Wasnt expecting much from this bottle given that 1980 was not a heralded Napa cab vintage. It poured a hearty deep purple, with a touch of bricking to show her 30+ years of age. The nose was elegant, subtle but alluring. Hints of berries, cedar and elegant freshly raked fall leaves. Upon opening, the palate really showed off its age with elegance revealing some dark fruit, healthy acidity and aged tertiary flavors with just a hint of oxidation on the finish. With a slight tannic bite on the finish, she reminded us that she wasnt over the hill just yet and wanted to hang on and strut her stuff for a few more years. Lovely bottle, my first birth year wine. Drink now.

Deep purple in the glass on the pop and pour. Nose has some initial alcohol on it mixed with red fruit. But its the palate where this shines. Lots of tobacco and barnyard with lively acidity but moderated with some vanilla bean. Fruit is predominantly black fruit with some red fruit showing through. Lots of tannin on the back end which will integrate nicely over the next few years. Long finish which clamps down on the back end with serious tannins. Restrained but pleasurable. Prefer this much more than the 2008.

Just closed for business on this night, even after a solid couple of hours in the decanter. The nose wasnt giving up much, other than alcohol. Palate was tight with tannins, some red fruit. Really disappointing as I had been looking forward to this.

Drank at cellar temperature. Pours a very pale salmon, much lighter than most domestic roses. Nose of grapefruit peel, hint of rose and some citrus zest. Great mouth watering acidity. Good minerality, and medium finish. Not much fruit, but I really enjoy how dry this is. A step up from the 2011, with less of the slightly bitter finish of previous vintages.

I'm a baby killer, but I couldnt resist. Day one, this was over the top for my palate. Recorked and opened one day two. Wow...what a difference. Heavily perfumed and bursting with juicy dark fruits. Seemless tannins, with good grip on the back end. The finish was minutes long. Very typical of Morgan's style and definitely a feather in his hat for this vintage. Will revisit in 12 months.

Definitely a contender with the 09-- and that is some stiff company. The 2010 has more spice on the palate and nose vs the 09s meat and game intensity. Again, very balanced. Integrated tannins and lovely red fruit. Should age well for the next few years before hitting its peak.
