Presented very thin and lacking complexity. Definitely improved on day 2 and 3. Possibly just needs some more time or more aggressive decanting.

7/8/19, 8:07 AM - Indeed! Which is why I was surprised to find the bottle presented so thin. Maybe just a bad bottle. I'll definitely wait a few years on the next bottle. Thanks!

Improving nicely since last year. Still, was better on Day Two. I think this is still on the upswing and I look forward to trying the remaining bottles over the next 3 years. Nicely balanced. Smooth but with structure. Finish has improved and lengthened since the last bottle last year.

Bought on clearance for $19, opened this for a wine novice guest. Boy did I underestimate it.
Smooth, integrated tannins. Nice fruit, leather, full bodied.

Disappointingly mute nose. Just nothing there, even with a good decant. Better on the palate, giving me just what I would expect from a 10 year old Bordeaux. The tannins are still prominent, but starting to smooth out. Plenty of acidity and alcohol to keep it all in balance. I'm going to let the next bottle sit for another 3-5 years. Drinking at 88 today, but with plenty of potential to improve over the next ten years. www.vincrush.com

Coloring is more burgundy than BDX; faint red fruits on a modestly dry palate. Fleeting flavors quickly dissipate front-palate. Long past its prime but fine tonite with pasta.

11/23/16, 5:26 PM - Or maybe a cooked bottle? Although it doesn't sound flawed as much as closed...

Blunted nose and palate suspicious of it being cooked. Brick color.
  • VinCrush commented:

1/21/16, 5:21 PM - I just had a bottle last night and it was in great shape with a nice deep color. With the brick color you describe, it certainly does sound like it must have suffered some serious abuse before you got it.
