12/24/23, 5:25 PM - Your note is spot on. Just opened this wine on Christmas Eve, after one glass decided to go on CT to check others TN, if I only had seen this before! Wonder if you also got it from Garagiste? I had other vintages of this wine and 2020 is not a true representation.

Disappointing Ken Wright single vineyard selection. Disjointed and lacking in fruit. Requesting refund from WTSO. Hoping the bottles from the other single vineyards are better than the 2011 from the Carter Vineyard.

Following recommendations from other tasters decanted for 1H+. Nose of whole cloves, cinnamon and all spice, little if any fruit on the nose. On the palate, the spices notes continues along vanilla, sandalwood and cherry cola. The wine has good acidity, light tannins that have been nicely integrated.

For the price point this is a really great wine. Finished off the bottle night 2 and it was drinking just beautifully, with all of the characteristics as night 1 with just a bit darker profile and even smoother. Will be back to the store were purchased to pick up a few more for the cellar.

Luscious dessert wine with a bright yellow color, nose of dried Turkish apricots and acacia honey, on the palate the wine has a good amount of acidity to match the amount of sugar, I paired with a deconstructed Tiramisu a Foggato, it was fine but it was better enjoyed on its own as over the table drink after we finished the dessert.

Your description of the essensczia sounds intriguing to me, I will add it to the bucket list, there is a wine store that from time to time will offer 15% off on half a bottles including dessert, they have some essensczia in stock, that would help with the $500 price tag
