Lovely and classy; a bottle that is starting to find its balance. Not (yet?) sophisticated on the nose and the palate, but surely precise, with an evident purity and structure. Muscular yet refined. Noble but not aristocratic. Dark fruits dominance at this stage, fleshy. Hints of Chalk and graphite. Fine tannins and acidity. This has yet to evolve further more but is already a real pleasure to drink. Medium + finish with a saline note. Let it breath well.

One word: Stunning! Despite its youth, drinking this beauty is so pleasurable and gourmand.
Red / dark fruits dominance at this stage, chalk, mineral, saline finish, lovely acidity and fine tannins that announce many years of evolution ahead, yet already so smooth and silky. Shows great technical expertise in the making. Although very good now, this Calon will surely reward patient owners and cellaring. I was lucky to have secured few bottles and looking forward to drink again in few years. Finally understood the hype that has been accompanying Calon the past few years :)

Simply stunning! Surely young yet approachable and already haunting. After an hour of decanting, the nose opened up with delicious aromas of red fruits, violets, rose petals, graphite, sweet peper. Full bodied, already balanced despite a bright acidity, and round tannins. Velvety and smooth. The palate is as rich, featuring Several layers and a langourous finish. In 2 words: Elegance and Power. A joy to drink. 14.5%

Surely young and needs at least an hour of decanting. This is a serious Pauillac, full bodied. At first, salinity and tannings dominate, fresh acidity, noting that the edges and the finish are smooth and silky. The nose seems shy.
After an hour of decanting, it opens up and soften. On the nose: pepper, cummin, exotic spices, cedar. On the palate; pepper and spices, black fruits, plum, violets. Round tannins. Long warm finish. Really good.
If you’re curious to taste it now consider at least an hour of decanting. Eager to see how this one will develop.

Taking into consideration the vintage, i was expecting more, especially that i am usually fan of Stephan von Neipperg's wines. It is true that this bottle is still quite young and is yet to show its full potential, however it just lacks character at this stage. Medium+ body, acidity is there and tannins are relatively (and surprisingly) quite polished. One the nose, it is shy. On the palate, immediate and pronounced saline notes. Adding Dark fruits, café-crème, ink. It is agreeable to drink but surely not an unforgettable experience and it needs more time to fully integrate (will it?). I still have few bottle that i will revisit in few years. 14.5%

This is a stunner. More power than the 2015, very fresh with its vibrant acidity and obviously young yet approachable. On the nose, aromatic and inviting red fruits, cedar and hints of leather (already). On the palate, plum, lovely berries, chocolate, tobacco on the silky, peppery and slightly saline finish. Surely mineral. Fleshy and Concentrated. Cabernet Sauvignon power is felt, yet the wine remains elegant and the tannins round (especially on the finish). This is a serious wine that will age beautifully

Still young, came out after an hour of decanting. Red fruits, Currant, tobacco and wood, peppery and saline finish; quite silky. Yet tannins and acidity are still agitated. Quite “classical” overall. This need few more years to come together although it is enjoyable now.

Still a bit closed and young yet approachable and “gourmand”. Red fruits with saline notes, silky and warm finish, round tannins. A real pleasure to the palate already, although the nose is a bit shy.

Structured and well made. This biodynamic C9dP has shown elegance and finesse. Surely less fruits, more cream and some tertiary elements. Pure silk, round, yet acidity is still (beautifully) present. Aromas are starting to fade. A beautiful bottle - and vintage- that has reached the end side of its peak.

A simple Riesling that delivers. Mostly Green Apple, Citrus, and lime. Mineral dry and fresh with lovely acidity. Maybe not sophisticated but very pleasant to drink.

A great Amarone, drinking very well now.
Dark & dried Fruits, chocolate, hints of almonds and some spices. Concentrated and quite jammy. Full body, balanced acidity, it is velvety and silky. A real pleasure on the nose and the palate
