This was the mystery wine at the tasting. Fruit was quite intense. Lots of acid. Balanced. Much more approachable than the younger wines tasted.

First sip was complex and amazing. Seemed to lose the complexity/fruit after that. 2 hour decant might have been inappropriate? Also possible it was faulted by something other than TCA. Rating based on initial taste.

This was a stand out bottle, first of 3. Tannins were fine yet firm. Lots of fruit plus some good secondary development. Acid was in perfect balance. Amazing QPR but we have also sat on it for 8 years so I’m sure it would be more $$ these days.

Interesting, my SO said if she hadn’t read the label, she would have said Grenache. Not a typical Pomerol. I enjoyed it. Still a few more years left, but glad we hit it in a good spot.

Needs time to open up, at least 2 to 3 hours. Once it does, it is delicious.

Needed an hour or 2 to open but was quite delicious after that. Acidity was pretty high and did throw the balance off a bit.

Medium body, fresh, good acidity, green apples with pineapple, and citrus pith (pith on the finish slight bitterness). A salinity core as well. Style is halfway between a Chablis and a Montrachet. Great with fatty things like pizza or cheesy pasta. Good value for what it is. It would be interesting to see how it will age to be a couple years.

Really coming into its own. Still an amazing amount of fruit present. Tannins are very evident but fine. The Shiraz component stands out at the first taste but the finish shows the Cabernet side. This could easily go another 10 years.

In a great place for this particular bottle. Last of my 09’s. Cedar, vanilla, cherry on the nose. Complex in the mouth with cherry and black licorice. Good length. Last bottle :(

Interesting that this is quite different from my notes of the previous bottle earlier in the year. Just goes to show the amount of bottle variation. Superb flavour and aroma. Well balanced and showing tertiary development. Fruit is still present. Tons of cedar n the nose.
