Wow, this is really good right now after 10+ years. Dried red cherry, strawberry, black raspberry, and plum fruit. Notes of leather, spice, mushrooms, white pepper, and subtle tobacco. Still has some nice acidity to it and good long finish. I've had quite a few Brunello's from this vintage that still needed time to rest but is definitely ready to drink now.

95% CS/2.5% Merlot/2.5% CF. Rich black cherry, cassis, and blackberry fruit. Big structure on the mid-palate with notes of tobacco leaf, smoke, leather, black licorice, crushed rock, and toasty oak. Still firm tannins on the finish which is long and beautiful. Typical Howell Mountain wine as this is far from being in its prime even after 15 years. This can easily go another decade.

Oh wow...right up my alley and still going strong after 20 years. Has a little funk on the nose with red/black cheery and cassis up front. Mostly, though, it has given way to the tertiary notes of leather, tar, earth, and dark chocolate. Still has great structure and balance to the wine with dusty tannins and a wonderful long finish. Great now but can easily go another 5-10 years.

Gorgeous wine! Dark, ripe and lush with blackberry, boysenberry, and black cherry fruit up front. Wonderful balance after almost 20 years with notes of milk chocolate, violets, spice box, and toasty oak. Tannins have softened a bit but they are long and lingering just like the finish. This will still go for years to come.

Beautiful silky texture with notes of dark chocolate, earth, leather, red licorice, spice and toasty oak. Just a seamless wine right now after 12+ years with smooth tannins and long finish. Acidity has mellowed a bit after 14 years but still has a nice long finish. No rush on this one if you have some, these will go on for quite some time.

Obviously still very young. Meaty wine here even with a decant. Black cherry, blackberry, dark plum, and blueberry fruit. Creamy texture and very extracted. Notes of earth, graphite, black licorice, dark chocolate. Long finish...just needs time. My understanding is that this vintage was the last as this fruit will now be going into the Oubile Cuvee.

45% Grenache/45% Mourvedre/10% Syrah. Damn this is good...albeit young. Super ripe fruit of blueberry, blackberry, and red cherry. Nice core of creme de cassis, red licorice, grilled meat, earth, and spice. Firm acidity and tannins, extremely long finish. An absolute blockbuster of a wine. Hold if you can resist the temptation.

Rough vintage for sure in Brunello but this is drinking really well right now. Red cherry, raspberry, and strawberry fruit. Notes of dried flowers and herbs, with some tobacco and black pepper on the mid-palate. Probably not a long term cellar dweller but good to open and enjoy now while the other vintages sleep for a bit.

First time with this wine, did not disappoint. Noticeable reductive nose with that matchstick and flint characteristics. Firm acidity right out of the gate with lemon, citrus, tart green apple and some pear fruit. Also, has some crushed rock and salinity to it on the finish. Definitely has that Burgundian feel to it...great wine.

Decanted over a couple hour period and definitely needed it but great wine after the fact. Red/black cherry and strawberry fruit. Tobacco, earth, dried flowers, exotic spices, and red licorice dominate the mid-palate. Obviously very tightly wound right now with firm acidity and grippy tannins. Great now but needs time to sit.

Surprisingly in a great place right now and fairly approachable. Supple tannins, long finish, and will continue to be great over time.
