The nose goes straight to volcanic soils, especially reds from Canarias, with its reductive nose. It doesn't obfuscate completely from the rest of the bouquet, and as time goes on the red fruit becomes more present. Spice and lively, light.

Eaten as an apperitif and then with some cheese at the end of the meal. Stone fruits, and a bit reductive on the nose, chalk. Tense yet creamy due to the RS, a great acidity that balances everything. Fantastic.

A wine that has the tannins that beg for food, something roasted. Still a lot of life, I am pretty confident it will last a few more years at least. At the moment it still has a lot of blackberries, tannins and density; good stuff.

PnP, delicate, light, with a ton of red fruits giving way to some leather and smokiness. But the fruit seems to be the dominant element, more so than in other barbaresco paje from Roagna I have tasted. A beautiful, lively wine, it has tons of life ahead. Wish I had some bottles in my cellar.

Showing some of the wood, but with enough acidity to carry it through. Depth of flavour, dense and chewy, with a beautiful nose.

After a lackluster 2009 last week, we decided to open a 2017. What a treat. Decanted for 30 min and drunk over a couple of hours, powerful yet elegant, tons of acidity. Spiciness, chalk, and beautiful lime flavor.

Showing well, with cranberries and spices, a touch of volatile acidity perhaps, that adds an extra dimension and gives personality to the wine. Elegance, not heavy at all, wood very well integrated.

Ripe dark cherry, after 40minutes in the decanter you start to feel more of the tobacco in the foreground, and some licorice. Multilayered, a beautiful rendition. My first wine from this winery, and I am hooked.

Ripe, dark and spicy, with a firm tannic structure. While built for the long haul, this was a pleasure to drink, if accompanied by the right kind of food. I will wait to drink my other bottles, although it was a fantastic one.

Served at around 14 and then back to the fridge to be closer to 12/13 when pouring. Light & crunchy. A dense nose, with spice, bacon fat, on the palate very sweet strawberries, a bit monotone at first, but developed in an even more interesting and complex direction after 30/45 min or so. Alas, the bottle was almost gone.

Reductive aromas in the beginning, as is often the case of wines from the region, although not completely obfuscating other aromas. After some aeration, tart cherries, slightly herbal on the palate, with the tartness being quite prominent, although with time it becomes a bit more mellow. There is some heat at times, although the alcohol % is low.

Beautiful garnacha from Bernabeleva. Very open aromatically and on the palate at the moment, with, I believe, capacity to age. Nice and refreshing acidity.

This really is a terrific value. More open than the cote de brouilly at this point from the same vintage and producer, raspberries, cherries and a beautiful perfume. Balanced acidity, refreshing, and a wine that begs to be drunk. Slight lactic note at times, but nothing that detracts from the overall enjoyment.

Open and pour, and then decanted for around 90min. Not very expressive aromatically at first, but it did open up with time and oxygen. Beautiful palate, great Barolo, a balance between rusticity and finesse. Drying tannins but the acidity and fruit give balance to the wine.

Chinon cabernet franc harmony. That's what I think of when I smell and taste this wine. Still incredibly youthful, but giving so much pleasure. Drink it or stash it away, you will not be disappointed either way. Green pepper, violet, tobacco on the nose. Compact and dense at the first approach on the palate, giving away to clean and gentle tannins, dark fruits with pronounced acidity to cleanse the palate after every taste. Long and supple finish.

A beautiful Nuits St Georges, definitely worthy of its premier cru status. Light body, some iron, acidity, and beautiful fruit. Young, but definitely giving a lot of pleasure now.

Beautiful wine. Open and pour, first at around 15C, then at 13/14. Best at 13C. Sour cherry, raspberries, intense with the tannic structure and suppleness common in very good barbera d'alba. The acidity cleans and adds to the tannins. Good stuff.

A powerful rendition of cru beaujolais, but at the same time amazingly fresh. Still in its very youth, with all its power and lovely fruit, it is a wine that you want to follow through its development. Buy some, drink a couple, store a few in the cellar and see how it progresses.

Great tension between the racy acidity, minerality, stoniness and residual sugar. Didn't find that the latter overtook the former as some people reported.

Nice fruit on the nose, plum, violet and a little gamy. Great acidity and fruit, not boring at all, and still full of life.

A bright, elegant, and crisp pinot from the Jura. Funky, reductive nose on opening, but bright, pure fruit and acidity on the palate. After 30 minutes the nose starts to open up and becomes more in line with the palate.

Very present spicy apricots and honey, some lychee. Not cloyingly sweet, with some natural acidity to cleanse the palate. Finishes long, clear, and bright.

Brought to Picones de Maria, Madrid. Beautiful nose, a bit closed at first, but it really opened up after 30 minutes. Raspberry, flinty and iron, a little smoke. Full without being in excess, it is drinking beautifully now based on this experience.

Fresh, medium bodied wine. black fruits. Black fruit, plums, earthy mineral notes. Dusty tannins, fresh firm finish, the wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.
