It opened up after about 2h decant. It was pretty good but how log do I have to wait until I can fully taste a French wine? It’s a 14 year old bottle!!

I am going to give it the benefit of the doubt. Even after 3h, it still was pretty tight, but with hints of a great wine. I will try not to open another one until 2020.

Decanted it for 2h before trying it.

Dark colored, dense, full bodied wine.

Spicy, fruity aromas. Hints of strawberry, spices and vanilla.

Medium to low acidity ant tannins. Tends to be a sweeter wine, and even though it has 15% alc., after the 2h decant one can taste the alcohol level.

Definitely an important plum, and violet flavor with a nice spicy finish.

Within the 2 hour decant it started showing its colors. Rich and floral bouquet. Beautiful violet, rose petals, and sweet spice notes.

It needs at least 2hrs to soften the alcohol content.

A blend of 82% Syrah, 13% Mourvedre, and 5% Grenache

Once the alcohol has dissipated, one can feel the abundant aromas of blue and black fruits, acacia flowers, spice, pepper, and earth. Notes of minerals, pepper, violet....creamy feeling.

79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot

After 2.5h decanting it started showing its colors. Still, it had powerful tannins that blinded the flavors that had started to show up. At this point the wine wasn’t great, but it should be great to drink in 3-5 years.

75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot, 13% alcohol
Before drinking, decanted for 1h
Medium red, full body.
Started with high acidity, difficult to approach, intense.
After 3-4h decant it got a little more palatable, but still to intense. I really don’t see its potential...it’s already been 13 years and it really isn’t showing much. Maybe it needs another 10 years to soften up...

Interesting that WS and WE give this wine an 87 and 86 rating while CT users give it a 91, usually we are more critical. This wine is great, specially for the price.

This is a dark colored big body wine. Aromas of berry jam, vanilla, plum and currant. Notes of chocolate, plum, and vanilla. Great wine, ready to drink now.

Needs a few years to open up, but like others are saying, it has all the right stuff in it. Dark color, cassis and fruit aromas, dark fruit, cedar and dark chocolate. Smooth silky tannins. Another 3-5 years before ready.

As per other reviews it’ll be ready on 2020. Spectacular aromas, still a harsh but potentially great floral, blackberry and cassis notes. Different than other St. Emillion wines that also have Cab., this one has Cab Franc.

Great potential, once the alcohol level and tannins soften down and let the typical boudeaux blend notes open up it’ll be a spectacular wine. I’ll try the next one in 2020.

100% Merlot. Dense dark purple. Black cherry, plum and Indian spices aromas and flavors. A touch of dark chocolate, tobacco and cedar. It essentially tastes like a milk chocolate covered cherry. Higher acidity than expected, but still smooth and nice finish.

For the price and the name, I expected a much better wine; a wine that at least competed vs a good US Bordeaux blend. I understand the wine maybe has several years to mature and reach its peak, but still, after 7 years you expect a good hint of what it will become. The level of acidity and tannins doesn’t let you taste what’s behind.

Notes from the winery: Cabernet Sauvignon: 67%; Merlot: 29%; Petit Verdot: 4%: these proportions ensure a certain classicism of style although there is exceptional tannic power, even greater than that of Pavillon Rouge 2005. The high proportion of Cabernet has helped preserve a moderate alcoholic degree – barely 13.4. The real greatness of the 2009 however, is in how those concentrated tannins have been given amazing softness and delicacy. We have never known such wonderful balance. (September 2010)

Classic Bordeaux blend,

Another one of those wines that need to age before really appreciating it. Big tannins with floral notes and specially a tobacco pipe like finish that will be spectacular in another 5 years (2022).

Dark color, deep purple and med to heavy body. Floral, fig and raisin aromas. Some barn flavors within 30 min of opening. The wine opened up and got better after about 1h decanting.
