Dark fruits, spice, berries, cinnamon nose.
Quite tight, closed after 2 hours decanting.
Black fruits, syrupy palate.
Full bodied, medium finish.
14.5% abv.
Quite good, needs more time. Revisit next year.

Quite powerful for a pinot noir.

Not a great deal to add to the tasting note from August last year. Maybe a little sherbet on the nose.
Crisp, flinty, grapefruit, gooseberry palate.
Excellent with 5 years plus longevity.

Deep ruby going on garnet.
Still some black fruits on the nose with aniseed & raisins.
Medium/full bodied, beautifully balanced with long finish
Surprisingly still a lot of fruits on the palate, with a hint of sweetness and a savoury edge.
Penultimate bottle and I think that this is (again surprisingly) better than in January 2021.

Deep garnet.
Not so much fruit on the nose, very earthy with some cedar.
Still some dark fruits on the palate with syrup, figs and leather.
Full bodied, well balanced, long finish.
Evolving well and still drinking well. Probably good for another 3/4 years?

Similar palate with tar, figs, coffee/chocolate.
Full bodied, long finish.
Still drinking well. On today’s evidence it should be fine until 2025.

Deep garnet
Ripe dark fruits, spice, cedar nose.
Blackberry, cedar, resinous palate with a hint of sweetness.
Still drinking very well and, as noted at the time of the original tasting, probably the best second wine I’ve tasted. Should drink well for 5+ years.

A little better than in 2020, may possibly improve further.

Ok, another two years down the line with this wine.
Morphing into garnet.
Berries, spice, dark fruits nose.
Raisins, tar, earthy palate with some dried fruits.
I don’t think that it’s improved from 2020 but drinking well.
Longevity? Pundits say mid to late 2030s, hope so with 20+ bottles in the cellar!

(Embarrassed to say that I purchased this because I was intrigued by the label!)
Pale ruby.
Lively strawberry, red cherry, nose with a hint of sweetness.
Cranberry, strawberry palate.
Light/medium bodied. 13% abv.
Pleasant enough and probably good for summer lunchtime drinking lightly chilled. Will see next summer.

Very good wine.
I’m struggling with longevity, but the pundits say 2050……

Very good wine and will probably improve and should have 5-10 years of enjoyable drinking.

Pleasant, easy drinking wine, a little more too it than your average vv.

Fresh redcurrants, asparagus, lavender nose.
Hint of sweetness on the palate with some residual red fruits and earth/savoury flavours.
Maybe slightly better than when tasted previously.
Still drinking well and I see that some pundits suggest it will continue to do so until 2040. Four bottles left, we shall see.

This is still drinking very well.
Similar nose/palate.
A little fuller and smoother than 2020.
Should continue to drink well for 3/4 years.

Purchased after reading Jane Ansons review in Decanter 3/4 years ago.
Deep ruby.
Mixture of black and red fruits on the nose, but black predominate. Some spice too.
Blackcurrant, toast palate.
Good but I wouldn’t go 92 at the moment.
It will evolve and improve and I look forward to retasting in a year or two.

Tasted again 2.5 years down the line.
Deep ruby.
Black plums and hint of spice on the nose.
Again quite tight & closed even after 4 hours decanting.
Full bodied.
Black fruits, graphite, cedar palate.
Very good, but I think will improve and needs a bit more time to be seen at its best.

Not quite as full and finish less marked.

This is lovely quaffable pinot noir and amazing value value.
I don’t think that I’ve drunk Romanian wine previously but this is very good and amazing value.

Powerful blackberry, black cherry, chocolate, vanilla nose.
Medium bodied, very well balanced, well integrated tannins.
Spice, black fruits and hint of black pepper palate.
Outstanding wine.
Should be fine for 5-10 years.

Very good wine.
First bottle of a case, it will be interesting to see how it evolves. I see that a well known wine magazine review suggests drinking 2022-2038 which seems a little optimistic? We shall see.

Pleasant enough, but not great.

Tasted the 2018 Sabarrote yesterday and found this a little more approachable but both excellent.
5-10 years+ of good drinking, it will be interesting to see how it evolves.

Almost two years on this is still drinking very well.
Similar characteristics to October 2020.
Oak maturation features a little more evident, resinous, vanilla flavours.
I think that this will drink well for 4/5 years and it will be interesting to see how it evolves/develops.

Some dried fruits on the nose, but fairly muted really.
Leather, earthy palate, no real fruits left.
This has peaked and started to regress and needs drinking up in my opinion.

Plums, damson, herb nose with some spice/liquorice.
Dark fruits and liquorice palate, maybe some figs.
Full bodied, well balanced wine, long finish.
50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% petit Verdot.
This wine is still drinking really well and I believe is a little better than in October 2020.
I would still give this 5-10 years.
Outstanding wine.

I thought that there was some dark fruits on the nose/palate this time which hadn’t been as apparent previously. Plenty of earth/leather on the palate. Probably slightly more enjoyable than at previous tasting which surprised me.
Revisit next year.

Ripe blackberries , sultana, cedar nose.
Dried fruits on the palate with some earth & forest floor.
I didn’t enjoy this quite as much as last year and certainly hasn’t improved .
9 bottles left, so Hope my 5-10 year prediction from 2021 is correct …..
Revisit next year .

Sweet.
Full bodied, complex, long finish.
Stone fruits&t topical fruits on the nose with some marmalade .
Lychees, figs, prunes palate.
Difficult to know what to drink this with (food wise.)
Very good wine, may improve, I probably, on current showing, drink this pre-dinner or with dessert.
Have enjoyed Gewürztraminer with curry in the past, but I think this is too sweet.
