Rosé
Maybe it was because it was one of the first warm days of spring and it really hit the spot, but this was just killing it today with all of the ethereal saline tangy melon splendor that this wine often delivers. Beautiful.

Tasted over 2 hrs
-med dark red minimal clearing
-slightly savory dark berry black pepper
-med acidity, med weight nicely concentrated dark berry savory saline mineral, med tannins
-not as meaty as some vintages but still has a bit of a wild side, drinking well now still early on mature plateau; just love how Levet's Chavaroche reliably delivers savory wild fruit balanced with a healthy wholesome rusticity while effortlessly aging - great Côte-Rôtie!

-med acidity, med weight ripe cassis black cherry stony iron minerality, somewhat austere chalky med tannins and a whisper of wood on the reasonably long finish; more depth of ripe dark fruit on day 2 - delicious
-drinking very well now, killer quality for a Bourgogne - could be a NSG village or even a lower end 1er cru

-funky savory Gevrey earth sous bois black pepper

Tasted over 1.5 hrs, from 375 mL
-med dark red no bricking
-heady fig spicy fruitcake warm kirsch plum
-med- acidity, big thick unctuous almost syrupy molasses fig plum faint hints of maturity and long burnt caramel somewhat warm finish with med- tannins
-wow, there is a lot there and even in this format still has some years ahead of it, this is one of the few '07 CdPs in my opinion that has lived up to its hype in that it isn't ridiculously hot roasted or grossly imbalanced, while I still prefer cooler vintage old school CdP this is an '07 I can enjoy; really has evolved positively since the last time tasted 7 years ago

Tasted over 2 hrs, bottle from secondary market
-nearly semi-translucent med red mild bricking
-all about subtlety - wet stone faint dried red fruit kissed with a vaguely smoky herbal note and gentle sweet sous bois
-med acidity gives just enough focus and tang, med weight texturally has an enveloping diffuse creamy soft earthiness, initial bright candied strawberry fades a bit with air, slightly charred sweet oak on the finish contributes to the med tannins
-first time tasting this Cru, red-fruited on mature plateau no hurry overall quite nice with good aromatic complexity but the oak is one notch too high for this vintage because the soft creaminess it imparts comes at the price of obscuring some of the underlying terroir

First rosé of the year. Translucent light pink-orange. Fragrant herbal melon. Not as precise as this sometimes is, with less acidity but more heft and softly textured. Some faded melon and salinity.
