Excellent balance of lemon zest, hay, quince, minerals, Chenin waxiness, chamomile, acidity and length. Bubbles are more like light spritz than bubbles. It is a delicious mature Chenin with mild effervescence.

Tasted alongside 2020 Boatman, 2020 Paso Robles, and 2015 Geyserville. The two Geyservilles were incredible! I'd call them grand cru to the Boatman and PR "premier cru" zins. But the 2021 Geyserville felt as if the planets were perfectly aligned, balanced, nuance, complexity, acidity, long long finish and sense of wanting to have an unlimited supply of 2021 Geyserville!

Tasted alongside 2020 Boatman and 2021 and 2015 Geyserville. Paso Robles was the biggest, most brambly, fruit forward Zin of the bunch. It was still balanced and fun to drink.

Tasted at the winery (with 2020 Paso Robles, 2021 and 2015 Geyserville). As others noted, this is an elegant expression of Zin... certainly of the 4 bottles, this one was the most feminine, subtle, and still packed Zin spice. I would liken it as the Volnay of Zins!

Beguiling nose of red cherry, high toned rose, forest floor and spice. The palate at first was mostly forest floor with cherry in the background... but... with 1 hour in a decanter... it became more balanced with red cherry, hint of some other darker berry, cocoa, umami, forest floor and medium long cherry finish.

Decanted 3 hours. Beguiling nose of dark red fruits and earth. Palate of cassis, raspberry, spicy peppery mid palate and long finish of cassis-blackberry. Shows no evidence of heat or jammy qualities of the 03 vintage.

Txrhoneranger note sums it up well. I am a huge fan of this wine and have opened a bottle of it every few months as I have several cases. It has been glorious over the years but sadly is now past its prime. It does show mature Chenin characteristics and pleasure at near room temperature... with more chill it tastes out of balance and decidedly sour.

Similar to other comments, there is bottle variation. I found this bottle outstanding: huge nose of macerated strawberries, balsamic, floral elements, palate of dark red fruits, complex, acidity... much better at room temperature (and served in Riedel Burgundy glasses). Prior bottles seemed to acidic and disjointed (which could represent either bottle variation or that I consumed those bottles too early or too cold).

Nose of lemon drops, blossoms, wet grass, palate of lemon, straw, floral elements, gripping acidity to balance residual sugar. Exquisite balance and length.

Decanted two hours but still painfully young... unresolved tannins... with air and time... it showed dense red fruit, hint of dill pickle/olive that I've picked up in 30+ year old Leoville Poyferre. Try again in 5 years?

Orchard fruits, yellow fruits, good balance, long long finish... the only flaw was noticeable oak. It's my first experience with this bottling. I suspect it will improve with age.

Stunning! Cranberry, pomegranate range of tart red fruits, yet, sweet fruit at the same time... elegant mouthfeel and exquisite balance. It easily outperformed the 05 Leoville Poyferre just before it.

Delicious 01 auslese in a great place now... nose of ripe orchard fruit, orange rind, palate of orchard fruit, subdued spices, excellent acidity... nothing dominates, nothing is out of place, everything seems harmonious.

This wine suffered coming after the 09 Ch Talbot. It has dense dark fruits and earth, but there are more prominent tannins (compared to the Talbot). Hold.

Past its prime. I don't recall as much peach when I last tasted it as I do the past two nights. It's okay but not special as it was 5-6 years ago. Drink up.

Forceberry's notes nail it. This wine is fantastic. Decanted 6-7 hours. It was the last of a Tempier tasting (19 Bandol blanc, 17 rose, 13 rouge, 10 rouge, 08 Migoua). This wine had the most intense dark fruit, animale, tobacco, tar, but at the same time, it was really light and balanced, an elegance to the intensity.

Part of a Tempier tasting. Compared to 2013 Bandol rouge and 2008 Cabassaou the 08 Migoua showed far more "feminine" qualities I don't associate with Bandol. Yet there was plum, dark fruit, hint of animale, and impeccable balance and elegance. Decanted 6 hours. Not sure how it will age further.

I really liked this wine. I agree with others that it has a SB type of grassy taste but there is the white flowers on the nose, citrus, bright acidity and as the wine warmed up, a sweet-tart profile.

Double decanted and left in the decanter for 60+ minutes before sipping it. The nose was more exuberant than the palate, but by about 2 hours the wine really opened up: cherry/strawberry nose, kirsch palate, beetroot, no sign of tertiary flavours. Decant for hours if drinking now or hold.

I agree with Acidqueen on this one... I would not guess this is Chablis... overripe Chardonnay intensity, rich, round, lemon for sure, but it lacks the minerality and elegance of Chablis. I love Savennieres but I would not confuse this for Savennieres, either.

This bottle is better than when I last tasted it in 2016. It shows sweet cherry and blossoms on the nose, sweet cherry and beetroot on the palate. It does not have any of the tart or thin qualities others have commented on. But it definitely does NOT have any Vosne qualities either. It tastes like a very solid California pinot.

Waxy lanolin big-time... it's more sec tendre than sec... seems something is off, not sure if it's chenin funk but it's a weird mid-palate flavour that overwhelms all else. It needs food.

From magnum... nose of black fruit, tobacco leaf and green peppercorn... palate of plum, some black fruit, savoury more than fruity... great balance and lithe. More pinot like in its lightness, but clearly cab franc in the tobacco leaf and green pepper aspects. It was drained quickly over a Thanksgiving turkey.

Nose of apricots and dried honey (botrytis). The acidity is good but the residual sugar is overpowering. It is not cloying but not a tightrope that other 95 Quarts de Chaume seem to me. I don't know whether to rate it high 80s for this lack of balance or mid 90s for its botrytis thrill factor.
