At first pour, the bouquet bursts from the glass. Rich, structured, with smooth, firm tannins.

Drinking about perfectly. Lovely integrated tannins. Fruit and secondary aromatics in complete balance. Exquisite with a 40 day dry aged Prime grade ribeye.

Needed some time to breathe. A sharp vein of acidity through it that balanced the tomato sauce. Tannins still firm, will hold.

Just lovely. Lingering notes of pear, dried apricot and all kinds of other things. With a bit of air some lovely Riesling petrol notes also developed

Quite lovely. Good fruit, texture is smooth but finishes with firm tannin and supporting acid. Lovely with a rib steak.

I liked it. Good structure & fruit, not too alcoholic.

Decanted for an hour, consumed over 2 more hours. This bottle still had a youthful element to its appearance, no garnet showing. It might have been expectation of something great. Nothing wrong with it, just no wow factor.

The tannins have further refined, the wine shows no other indication of its age. Lovely.

For our palates, this could use another year or 2 of slumber. Tannins quite smooth, good fruit, peppery nose, hot alcohol finish.

Restrained elegant nose, mostly secondary aromatics but hints of fruit. Lovely mouthfeel, absolutely no rough edges. A lingering, warm finish.

Good with a steak, too young for a brisket.

Ontario whites have come of age, from this lovely, inexpensive subtly floral blend to sone very good sparkling wines.

Tannins are integrated, the fruit is still good. Lovely with lamb chops, enough acidity to stand up to the lemon/olive oil marinade.

We were looking for a bottle to enjoy with braised lamb shoulder chops and I thought this might have taken on some age. It is lovely but still of youthful character.

Time to drink up -- mostly secondary characters showing now: sandalwood, forest floor and a bit of barnyard. Refined, fully integrated, more silken than velvet but stood up to rack of lamb well.

A bit lighter in body than most Gigondas. Fine, integrated tannins overlay good structure and fruit.

Drinking well now with good beef; otherwise, will the fruit hold another year while the tannins recede a bit further? I think so.

Lovely to drink right now but watch the alcohol content. It's surprisingly 'cool' for 16.5%, smooth tannins and forward fruit, lingering finish and an elegantly firm structure.

Decanted 2 hours. When poured, the bouquet let from the glass, but calmed almost instantly. First sip showed a young, raw wine, but it eased up in fairly short order. Needs a few more years.

Quite lovely with 4 hours decant. Elegant & subtle nose of hazelnuts and burnt orange that continue to the palate, which also shows hints of sandalwood and old leather.

Agree entirely with Stickings. The acidity balanced the tomato sauce in the lasagna.

In Canada this is CDN$17, about $12.80 US. It's cheap here for anything from California.
And good value! It is fruit forward, lush mouthfeel and decent structure though a bit short on the finish. The nose and palate both showed hints of ethyl alcohol but not unpleasantly so. It could age a year or two....

Quite lovely. Nose shows caramel, a lot of pear and some bruised apple, all carrying to the palate. Lovely mouthfeel, well-balanced with good, refreshing structure and not too syrupy. With Creme Brûlée.
