A bit young and fruit forward, but good acidity and texture. Some balancing earth and leather came through with air.

Wow. Nice Bordeaux blend that could probably use another year or two to soften the tannins. Great complexity on the palate.

Good, but think I was expecting an bit more. Silky texture of muted fruit, but a bit one dimensional and lacking a ton of complexity.

Lovely elegant wine. With some air, red fruit comes through, balanced by crushed stones and smoke with drying tannins on the finish.

Needed some time in the decanter to open up but quite nice. A little light weight.

Delicious predominately cab blend, but can definitely taste the Malbec as well. Long finish and nice depth. In its peak window but would drink in the next year or two.

Nicely constructed wine with good structure. Balanced fruit and acidity with leather and secondary notes starting to shine through. However, significant heat from the 15.5% alcohol on the finish.

Not my favorite. A little too much barnyard and not enough structure for me.

Classic notes. Nice fruit, minerality and chalky tannins. Slightly out of balance and edgy with a short finish. Probably needs a bit more time.

Fantastic! In it's prime with enough structure to hang on a few years, but beautiful complexity and silky mouthfeel. Great fruit still shines through with forest floor and a hint of musk.

Conflicted on this one.

Most definitely not dry, with a distinct fruit forward sweetness. However, this also certainly had layers of fine tannins and decent complexity that kept me coming back for more. Thinking this doesn't have enough structure for much more aging.

Thin and a bit bitter and overly acidic for such a high end Pinot.

Updated score night 2: 89.
Sweeter, acid more in balance. Much more enjoyable.

Splitting the difference in the overall rating.

Nicely balanced and integrated, but not too much going on with this one in terms of complexity. With some air, is a nice table wine, but that's about it.

Olive brine, earthy, beautifully complex Brunello. Dark fruit and fine drying tannins and still plenty of life left.

Beautiful hand painted bottle. Deep purple color and little aroma. Decently complex palate, but tasted more like a Malbec than can franc/petit Verdot blend. Short finish.

One dimensional flavor profile, but smooth cab with fine drying tannins. Better with food than by itself.

Silky smooth texture and clean palate. Some sediment in the glass.

May have been better with food, but aromas and the taste of pyrazine came through a bit heavy and fruit was muted. Seemed slightly out of balance.

Nevertheless, clearly a good quality cab.

Perfectly aged cab franc. Rich with complex secondary notes, and in its prime. Never would have guessed it was a Virginia wine. Drink now.
