Amazingly youthful wine. When first opened it was very tight and underwhelming. Double decanted and served with lamb three hours later, the wine was transformed and spectacular! Near perfection and the wine of the night. One more bottle left - I have my fingers crossed.

The Last Supper (Before the Covid-19 Shutdown) (El Ideas): A towering and commanding nose rich, mint-filled Shiraz fruit. The palate is so rich and dense with persistent brightness. Youthful even at 30 years old. Wow.

Perfection in the glass, even better than the last two bottles! Went perfectly with heart of ribeye. Still dark garnet, completely opaque, the slightest hint of brown at the edges. Aromas of red raspberries, blackberries, with American oak vanilla notes. On the palate, full-bodied but round and elegant, not a fruit bomb. Rich, concentrated, viscous, lots of smooth balanced fruit with the acid and tannin. Slightly hot on the late palate and aftertaste due to 15% alcohol, but amazing length. This will still last for years.
