A very nice wine. Light nose of stone fruit. A taste of oak and vanilla with fresh tropical fruits - papaya and guava. Very long finish. Surprisingly went well jambalaya.

Quite nice. Lots of stone fruit flavors to it. Not all that sweet for a spatlese, but still a sipper.

Dark ruby. Nose of cedar and leather. Palate shows ton of dark fruit. A lot of grip left to it. Nice but could be more depth to it.

Quite nice dessert wine. Deep beautiful golden color. Nose of some type of spring flower like jonquils or hyacinth. as well as the botrytis smell. On the palate, I get mandarin orange, white pepper and gasoline. Has a bit of a sweet and sour finish to it. Nice acidity. I have another bottle I will sit on for another five years but could go a pretty long time I suspect.

Nice golden color. Tropical fruit like mangos on the nose. Palate shows more tropicial fruit but with a heavy dose of wedding cake. Extremely long finish. Acid is still there to balance the sweetness. Quite nice.

Strong currant and leather notes on the nose. More leather, dark fruit, and morello cherries on the palate. Very smooth and well integrated tannins. Extremely long finish. Went well with some strong cheeses.

This aged very well! Deep amber color. Nose of chalk. Palate shows very strong apricot flavors. Sweet but not cloying. Acidity well integrated. Long finish. Surprised with this wine.

I had no expectations for this wine. My husband bought it and he’s a newbie with wine. Delicious! Nose was restrained but the palate was explosive. Plums, cherries, cedar, leather, all sorts of flavors coming throughout the evening. Tasted over six hours. Wish I had more

Wasn't a fan. Just too rustic for me with harsh flavor and acidity. Maybe it was the year, because I've had the 2019 and that was OK. I have some of his better bottlings, I hope they show better for me.

Took a very long time to open up. Slow oxed from 2 to 7 PM! Opened for Bordeaux Wine Enthusiasts convention in DC 2023. Very, very bretty. Once open (by 8 PM), it was a very full bodied intense wine with dark, dark fruit like plums but with lots of leather notes to it.

Opened for the Bordeaux Wine Enthusiasts convention in D.C. 2023. In Magnum. Lovely wine. Full bodied, lots of layers. Floral nose. Dark blackberry notes and long finish of cedar.

Better than the last Steinmetz I had. Golden color. Nose of spring flowers palate shows definite pineapple notes. A very opulent and dry wine with fairly high acid.

PnP and drank over two days. Better than I expected. First day had a very perfumed nose of moss and dried leaves Palate showed some mint as well as leather and tobacco. A slight bitter finish and some acid. Second day, the nose was bigger and more ripe mulch notes. The palate was much more funkier with mushroom notes. The finish was more bitter and acidic on the second day.

Nice straw color. Very light nectarine nose. Orange citrus on the palate with strong acids. A nice touch of oak showing. Long nice finish with a bit of puckering. I have more of this and will let it sit for three to five more years.

Nice straw color. I definitely get peach and nectarine on the nose with some hints of orange blossoms. The palate has more tannins than I expected with very good acid. All minerals on the palate but with more air showed stone fruits and almonds. I didn’t get oyster shells like some people mentioned. But I did experience the long iodine finish. Very very nice wine, a bit young so I’ll sit on my other bottles for maybe 3-5 years

Nice wine for the price. Has that golden Chardonnay color to it. Not much in the way of bubbles, very fine. Showing pear and quince on the palate. I didn’t get any oxidative notes with it as others have mentioned. Finish showed lime notes to me and a bit of a bitterness tonit at the end. Disgorged July 2021. Dosage 3g. 12%

After so many powerhouse Chards from Cali like Aubert, Kistler and Peter Michael this was a bit of a relief because of its purity. Not much of a nose just a some tropical flowers like stephanotis. Palate showed initially butterscotch and then a strong peach flavor. Followed by an interesting lime finish. Very nice wine

This was an OK bottle. Had a cherry nose as well as the same on the palate. Drinking now and probably won't age much more than this. Has tannins to support the fruit but didn't appeal to me more than a regular Chianti Classico.

Upon opening at restaurant (Longboard Cafe in Ocean City) this was quite reductive and showed a lot of oak. After an hour this turned into a beauty. Minerals and stone fruit are very evident. An extremely full bodied and intense wine. It struggled to be a good food wine and only seemed to complement the duck dish one of us had (it overpowered the fish dishes) This would have benefited even more with decanting.

The lychee is strong with this wine! Ya gotta love Gewurtz! Beautiful sun gold color. A botrytis nose. Palate full strength lychee with some orange peel. Very full bodied and intense wine. Slightly bitter finish which oddly I found appealing
