Beautifully perfumed with dark cherry and floral notes. This is well rounded in the mouth, with tannins starting to integrate, but it is lacking some complexity in the mid-palate/finish. A lovely wine for a cool and difficult vintage.

Lovely bright red in color. A beautiful cherry and herbal nose. Also floral and baking spice hints present. Pleasant tannins, enough grip to make this a serious rosso. Very good length and quality QPR.

Let this decant for 6 hours. The color was inky, dark purple. On the nose, I found black currant, green olives, leather and sweet tobacco. There was also some brett, but it did seem to blow off as I swirled the glass. The palate was full, yet had linear peecision through the back of the palate. I found leather and graphite on the palate. This had pretty length. Really happy with my first BAMA experience.

It was immediately apparent that despite the quality of producer, 2003 was a very bad year. There are some interesting aromatics here with floral, cedar and forest floor notes. Unfortunately, the palate seems to be lacking in complexity. The tannic qualities are clearly still evident, but there is little otherwise. The finish also seems quite short.

This was in a great place. The nose was full of red fruit and floral tones, with hints of earth and dried herbs. The palate had juicy acid that worked well with the firm tannins. The red fruit, herbs and spice were present on the palate and into the finish, along with a saline quality that was appealing.

Really pretty for a young syrah. The nose has great spice and olive tapenade. There is also some blackberry. The palate has great gripping tannins, with black fruit and leather. Lovely, classic wine.

This was so nice and in a great spot in my opinion. Much of the fruit character has given way to the more earthy, savory qualities of underbrush, hints of crushed flowers, and some wild mushroom. I also found the dusty, granitic note that I often get with sangiovese. On the palate, the tannins are wll intergrated but still have just enough grip to them. Great length for its age. Caught this bottle at a great time.

Beautifully refined Barbaresco. While this may not have the structure for the long haul, it is lovely at the moment. The nose has a wondeful rosey perfume, with some forest floor (think wet leaf after rain) and cherry notes as well. The palate has great acid and well structured, but not overly firm tannins. Again, I dont know that this has the structural length for 15-20 years, it makes for pleasant early drinking.

A very compelling wine. The nose has an interesting mix of olive brininess, balsamic, and spice. The palate is still quite tight, with firm tannins. The mouthfeel has a similar brine to it. This will continue to evolve for years to come.

This was drinking beautifully. Pop-n-pour. The nose was powerful and filled with scents of rose potpurri, eucalyptus, spices, mineral scrub, and dried cherry. On the palate, the tannins were firm but weren’t harsh and the spiciness/herbal notes on the nose followed the palate. Nice length on the finish. This is in a lovely place right now.

This is just beautiful. A langhe nebbiolo on an entirely different level. A nose of tar, leather, and earth. There is a distinct spice component as well. The tar and earth follow through the palate, along with gripping, firm tannins and tons of power. This is easily in line with some higher quality barolo out there.

This is right in the sweet spot of its drinking window. Savory notes on the nose of leather, earth and cooking spices. The palate follows with the savory qualities, namely leather and cedar box. Medium length finish.

This still has great complexity to it. The nose is full of dill, leather and forest floor. There is also a presence of mushroom and herbal notes. On the palate, I found more leather and forest floor. Awesome stuff

A super juicy wine from start to finish. On the nose, I found cherries, dried strawberry, hints of spice and some floral notes. There is also some lingering granitic quality. The palate expresses a vibrant, juicy quality of strawberry and minerality. A beautifully refreshing wine.

Took several hours to open up. After 2+ hours of decant, the nose showed hints of dried purple fruit, flinty notes, spice and granite. The palate follows with granitic qualities, mouth-coating tannins.

Still had some life to it, but certainly on its downward trend. There is tobacco, leather, cooking spices, forest floor, cedar box and dried dill on the nose. The palate has fully integrated, the tannis are resolved, and the palate leans toward the cedar box and leather notes. Bot much in the way of length however.

Very welcoming and approachable, even at this young stage. Pretty nose of roses, tar, baking spices and herbs. There is also a tiny bit of heat on the nose, but it is ever so slight and will probably reconcile in time. Firm tannins, nice acidity and decent length. Given the price increase with the Conterno acquisition, this is probably a bit overpriced now.

Translucent red in the glass that faded toward the bowl. On the nose, I found cherry, strawberry, rose water and tar. The palate leaned toward the rose water characteristics with firm, but not overpowering tannin and juicy acidity. Medium length.

A nose of cherries, baking spices, cloves and floral notes. Very nice texture on the palate, with some more weightiness to it. A mineral character lingers from the palate through the finish. Nice wine indeed, though not a value buy.

It took about 4 hours before this began to open. It felt somewhat limp and light at first, but grew to show notes of dried cherry, rose petals, chalk, with hits of orange zest and anise. A bit of leather also became present. Really nice acidity woth firm tannic structure. A first Boschis for me, and Im unsure what to make of it given the current price point.

This was a pop and pour. The color was definitely a darker, reddish purple in the glass. The color of beets. On the nose, there was leather, graphite, smoked meat and a mushroom/umami note. The palate was powerful and rich, with tannins that lingered along with the distinct graphite presence that came back on the finish. An enjoyable wine, but it did not feel like a true chianti classico.

I thought this was really pretty. There was an initial, green and stemmy note I was worried about. But that blew off almost immediately. The nose was full of bright red fruit, with cherry and cranberry notes. Also clear orange rind, cinnamon, paprika and baking spices. I also found some flinty, granitic notes at times. An excellent palate with great depth and excellent acid. Impressed.

The nose was largely muted and light. There were notes of roses, cherry, gravel, hints of smoked meat, and after a few hours, there was a clay-like note that became evident. This still has some acid and clear tannic structure. The palate is far more interesting than the nose.

This definitely took time to open up-at least 2-3 hours. The nose was really tight at first, but opened to orange rind, dried cherries, cinnamon and baking spices. A palate full of minerality, some density, but the tannins are fully integrated. As others have said, this is really geeky and interesting but should definitely not command its current grey market price.

This was definitely pretty closed initially and took the entire meal to open up some. When it finally did, the nose was bright cherry, with some graphite/rockiness that I often find in Radda. Also some notes of black licorice and game. Very nice acid, but not overly tannic. This is probably closed up for now and needs time to re-emerge.

A deeper, richer red in the glass. Only slight fading to a red-orange at the edge of the bowl. A beautifully earthy nose of mushroom, forest floor, along with floral notes and some cloves. There are also aromas of leather and spice. This is a rich palate, that both feels weighty yet has great acid. On the palate there also earthy character. Medium length. There is stil great life to this.

This is a really nice value and excellent QPR for Brunello. A lovely, traditional nose of cherry and herbs. Also showing a distinct graphite and faint hints of fig and balsamic. Well-balanced with nice acid and firm tannins. This will certainly last a number of years, but is probably not the longest-lived Brunello. Its drinking great as is right now.

This isnt for me. First of all, this is a gigantic wine with 15.5% alcohol. The heat from the alcohol is not overpowering though. But this nose was uninteresting-black cherry, baking spices, cooked herbs, tobacco and cedar chips. It was difficult to get past the clear woody notes. Mouth drying tannins, but missing the acidic balance. Just not my style.

Excellent acid, but not overly powerful tannins. There is also a distinct saline quality to the finish. Really enjoyable to drink.

Decanted for about 1.5 hours, but is way way too young to fully appreciate right now. Lovely nose of roses, chalk, cherry and herbs. Fabulous acidity and gripping tannins, with a long finish. This is only going to get better, so happy to have another bottle put down for another decade.

A nice red-purple color in the glass. A nose that is expressive and fairly open for such a young wine and shows dark cherry, fig and green olives. The acid jumps out on the palate and provides and clean, crispness to the wine. Olive tapanade is also present on the palate. A very nice medium+ length.

For a 32 year old wine, the color in the glass is beautiful. Ruby red with some light coppering toward the bowl. Crushed cherry, graphite, dried basil and paprika on the nose. There is a bit of a smoked meat note as well. It is a very classic nose. On the palate, mouth-drying tannins are present, with some minerality and more graphite and chalk. There is still a TON of power left in the glass. The finish is very, very long. This wine feels unbelievably young and could use more time for the tannins to relax. Absolutely a food wine.

For its age, a beautiful and bright red color in the glass. This nose is extremely floral with its rose aromas, it also shows hints of cherry, cocoa and at times some fainter notes of forest floor and mushrooms were also present. Remarkably refreshing mouth feel and acidity. Not an overly long finish, but this wine still shows so much life it’s stunning.
