Very Pauliac with polished glossy tannins & lovely rich cherry, forest fruits. Little to complain about here. Ready for business with plenty of life but probably not going to get better. Decent finish with a tad of the 2003's about it.

Perfect now. Lovely fully integrated Margaux. Still some 1989 strong flavors with almost light alcohol typical in these 25 year old medocs. Very drinkable, lots of Margaux character pure Prieure lichine. A lovely'89.

Pleasant. Bricking & ok for a few more years but not going to improve from here. Good balance, nice strength of Margaux fruit with a decent robust finish. Tannins or acidity will take over in 5 years.

Pleasant. Lightiish with bricking. Cedar, red fruit spectrum more cedar on the finish. Good for a few years yet but not going to get any better. Have a soft spot for clerc since a fine case of 1983. This one not terribly memorable though.

Drinking well right now & good for another 5 years. Tasty red & black fruits. Strong & robust with a mouthfilling long mid & finish. Reminds me of a pessac, say chevalier 2000, but not as espresso or layered. Tannins with grip too. Good buy.

This bottle didn't last very long. Beautifully aged offering medium body with good robust red & dark fruit flavors with espresso finish. Sweet & ripe easy drinkong with a bit of volatile acidity but not too distracting. Love it.

Outdone by a de chevl. Tasted alongside. The fieuzal was lighter but more fruity. Lovely black fruits with a good medium finish. This is good value drinking that's good on its own without food. More going on in the chevalier layers with the de fieuzal more on the fruit side. A buy.

Awesome wine. Dark opaque. Great Nose of pessac earth dark fruits & all the right stuff in place. Tasting beautifully with a good burly fruit tobacco & fruitcake mix. Layers of flavours. Espresso laden long finish. Good qpr. Will buy again. Think it might be the slight excess acidity that stops it being > 93? Really enjoyed the 2003 but not their 1989 was poor.

Terrible cork so feared the worst. The worst blew off quickly & the wine was very good. Fully mature light in color & old school aromas. What it does reveal is its vintage. Those of us lucky to taste 1990 will know what I mean. 1990 has a very discernible palette mostly on the mid to finish that is Rich & endowed with rich dark fruits & a totally ripe flavor. Find it & you'll know.

Corked but still capable of revealing the lovely vintage under neath. Nicely aged st em. Seek out a good bottle if old school st e is your thing. Its mine, think old, preacquisition Belair.

Good medium color. Nose has lots going on dark fruits, cherries etc. quite a modern vein (Napa) on tasting & still very fresh with a bit to go on the development front. No over extraction here. Long lasting finish but not quite as good as some lagranges that have come before it eg; 85,86, 00. Outmaneuvered by a more evolved beychevelle 03 on this occasion.

Drinking beautifully 29 years on. Nose full of all the secondary medoc notes. Dark rich opaque color with some brick. Rich on the palette plums, dark fruits but mostly game, saddle, forest. Very Margaux. Popped & consumed within a couple of hours. Very well appreciated by the company. Will seek out more. Love it. 86's living well.

This is lovely. Drinking beautifully now & for the next 10 yrs. Dark fruits, sweet & ripe, cherry, plum and the savory you find in good beych. Gamey too which also is a good vintage beychevelle feature. Also refined & sophisticated. Out shadowed an 03 lagrange (91) which had a slight Napa streak but also very good. Would buy both again. Good pricing too.
