The previous tasting note bolstered my confidence to buy this bottle in an understanding the wine is not dead. I second that note with my own. The cork was difficult to extract but when one considers it's just shy of 80 years, the cork is in arguable fine condition. The wine was low to mid shoulder but also arguably high in the context of younger albeit well aged bottles with similar fills. Upon removing the cork there was some must and this only blew off slightly. The palate was nicer than the nose, strong traditional pauillac notes of graphite, cedar but also tertiary elements of earth, mushrooms and truffle. The fruit is far from gone and the wine had improved by the last sip. This is in no danger of falling apart and was one of the more enjoy wines I've had the pleasure of consuming.

Double decanted for restaurant ant consumption. No real sediment to speak of. Very floral nose, still significantly tannic and could have done with more air as it clearly evolved in the glass. Dark plum Colour in the glass. Nice depth of flavour (blackberries, violets, herbal notes) but the oak feels a tad too heavy or perhaps it just needs to integrate further (5 more years wouldn't hurt). Long finish. Was paired with a Milanese pork chop.

Hello Italian Pinot Noir Cousin. Refined and delicious. Really opened up after two hours. Cranberries, white pepper, light to medium body, acidic.

Raisins, dark fruit, lots of plums... this needed to breathe even after 16 years, still tannic. Drinking well after one hour but has a very slight metallic finish on the back palate which pulls it back a little. The raisin notes makes me thing this is now a drink up stage.

Even after 15 years it needed a good one hour decant. Good balance between jammy fruit and complexity and depth. In a good spot now but can cellar for years longer. Long finish with some pepper.

Lots of bacon/animal fat. Deep and heavy wine but vastly inferior to the other Curatolo Arini selection. Not for me.

Quite disappointing but maybe just not my style. Decent amount of dark fruit on the nose, mouth a but underwhelming with strong acidity. Floral notes but also spices, a touch too much oak - maybe it just needs a bit more time..?

I don't normally like Pinot Noir but this hit a spot as did the Paringa I had last year. Nice mineral Flavours, not to much of that candied fruit, acidity and fine tannins. I'd buy this again and I'd back it against Burgundy at twice the price.

Lovely wine but needs a few more years yet. Nice blackcurrent Flavours... unfortunately it struggled to compete with the company of the Yarra Yering

Cork completely disintegrated despite my best efforts which had my fearing the wine was in a fragile state, but thankfully not - still drinking very well and a decent amount of fruit (blackberries)for such and old Bordeaux. Quite acidic and tannic still, decent amount of Brett.

The wine looks purple colored. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, blueberry and black currant (cassis). It tastes like blackberry, mint, cool/menthol, eucalyptus and bell pepper. The body is medium/full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

Menthol and mint nose, black currant taste infused with herbs, capsicum and liquorice... very short finish. Not a big fan of this but it may suit others.

Still needs more time but drinking well after a one hour decant. Blueberries, lead pencil and forest floor notes. Slightly meaty on the back palate.

3 hour decant. Delicious dark fruit Flavours but a kick of green still on the back palate. Infanticide I know but no alternative to serve. Let this bad boy sleep another five years minimum for best extraction but drinking well now.

Infanticide? Blackberry, herbaceous and cut grass nose. Great body, Slight glycerine taste with soft oak. oozes depth. Very tannic, this will cellar extremely well.

Blackberries, chewy and full bodied. Lots of vanilla from the oak. Tannic which makes me think another few years wouldnt hurt it.. But this is drinking well, a gorgeous wine at an attractive price point.

Nose is ethanol, slight petrol fumes but in the background there's a hint of leather. In the glass it's dark but ruby around the edge. Tastes of black pepper and licorice, then falls immediately flat. Should fare well with BBQ.

Decent whiff of straw/hay and cassis. Cherry came through on the first sip. This needed a decent decant despite being 17 years old so holding up well. Mellowed after an hour and the softness took away some of the tannin and pepper but improved the balance.

Blackberry, plums, bit of Licorice. Wasn't sure whether this needed a decant and although the nose suggested perhaps so, a quick sip lead me to understand it was in a fragile place with the fruit falling away slightly - drink up now.

Perfume, slightly floral nose. Tastes of Red currant, balsamic notes, cranberry. This wine is drinking very well right now but may benefit from one or two years more in the cellar.

Fruit forward, raspberries. The nose is full of barnyard funk. Full finish, not very tannic but nonetheless I think the wine will benefit from a few years in the cellar.

Cherry tart, touch of pepper makes it almost taste like Sangiovese. This is a Pinot Noir which will develop over time but equally drinks well now.

Meursault like - buttery popcorn to the max. Decent amount of oak and some fruit on the follow (creamy pears?). Gorgeous and I preferred this over the more expensive tw Chardonnays by the same winemaker.

Full bodied but ethereal. Tobacco, cinnamon, tea, mushrooms and figs - very earthy, simply delightful. This wine easily has years of upside but it's already drinking very well. Very understated and good value for money.

Nebbiolo spices, leather, cigars... has the Barolo brown rim befitting something one decade old or more. This wine has lots of depth and whilst it will likely develop further, it's already drinking very well in my book.
