Interesting wine. I should of gave it more time to warm up, as It was in my fridge at 54. Shared amongst guest, so didn't get to re visit. Very settle though.

1/26/23, 11:45 AM - I agree 100%. Enjoyed at Peter Luger with Ribeye. Decanted in the glass for 30-40mins and enjoyed though dinner. Not a fruit bomb or jammy. I feel this wine could use more time to develop over the next 3-4yrs but is drinking well now. No hard edges IMO.

Nice bottle. Still got time to lay down as this wine is a 2019. Could drink for the next few years nicely. Cheers

This deep red/garnet wine is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc, aged for 17 months in French oak (70% new). Assessed by serial sampling of a pristinely cellared magnum that had been double-decanted (allowing two hours in decanter prior to funneling back into the cleansed magnum), it oozes with dark bramble fruits, baking spices, mocha, licorice, pipe tobacco and savory herbs. Full-bodied and with low-to-medium acidity, it wraps its flavors with silky-textured tannins and just the right amount of toasted oak. Layered on the middle palate and finishing long, this is nothing short of liquid hedonism. Those holding well-cellared magnums will be quite pleased with this wine at any point throughout the decade. Drink now-2030.

Lots of gooseberry fruit, also white peach and apricot all in a smoky frame. You are also bound to bump into wecoming floral freshness. Palate again fresh with crisp acidity embedded in a slightly creamy texture where more herbal aromatics add to the complexity. Nice and smoky finish. This is really sensational for the price and you just can‘t go wrong opening this - it doesn‘t hurt the purse if you pour it for a layman and the expert nose will find this fascinating, especially since outside of Spain maybe Viura doesn‘t really feature in wine circle conversations.

6/23/20, 6:38 PM - Unbelievably tasty even at room temperature, viscous mouth feel, long finish, a bit of tannic drying effect, definitely green apple, peach, jasmine, a tinge of grapefruit. For ~30/btl I think it is a good buy.
