Nice and open, solid backbone. Not too volatile. Drinks perfectly now, judging by this bottle no problems keeping for another couple of years. No need to wait though.

Not nearly as good as Montmains 2000, seems somewhat off, good acidity, lacking fruit, no obvious POX, but kind of disappointing.

Wonderfully complex, toast, limestone and citric fruit. Complex and balanced. Long tail. Last bottle oxidized, this one perfect.

Purple red. Oak, vanilla, spices and dark berries on the nose. All over the place with stringent tannins, cherry and blackcurrant fruit, seems vulgarly extracted. Heavy, unelegant and jammy mouthfeel, Long and dry spicy ending. Not for me.

Orange rim, meaty, lightly oxidized nose. Plums, cherries, sweet´n sour, manzanilla. Pretty fragile backbone, lacking acidity. However, tannins are smooth, and the wine is pleasantly light on the palate. Somehow diluted ending, which is rather disappointing. Not too impressive.
White - Off-dry

Ripe apples, melon, honey, a little tropical on the nose. Subtle petroleum. Full bodied, complex, lovely sweetness. Nutty character. Very fresh on the palate, lively acid. Balanced to perfection. Long aftertaste. Nowhere near peaking, but doubt it can get much better. Terrific!

I bought a lot of these due to overwhelming critics. When young really impressive, but somehow, like pointed out by many already, seems to lose it completely after a couple of years. Rather uninteresting now. This is a wine for immediate enjoyment, although nothing wrong with that.

Second time I´ve tried this, first time around was kind of a let down. However, now I wonder whether that bottle was faulty as I don´t have the experience to know what this is supposed to taste like. Fabulously transparent neon-pinkish-brown colour. Nose with roses, sour berries, odd perfume and unidentifiable spices. Light on the palate, sharp acidity but balanced by lightly oily viscosity, lots of minerals, almost metallic. Smoky aftertaste, someone said "like a very thin whisky", surely she means manzanilla. Hey, why not. Strange, yet quite enjoyable.

Tasted together with Borgogno Barolo Riserva from the same vintage. No previous experience with wines as old as these. Cool label. New cork suggesting that the wine is from the producer´s own library. Orange rim. Sharp acidity, good mature tannins, obviously not on the fruitier side, but impressively well-balanced and a straight-forward elegance which is very pleasing. Nice and complex. Good wine and good fun.

Like the 2004 vintage, hugely dissappoining. Surprisingly short-lived, pale color but still seems oxidized. First guess flawed bottle. After having tried three I leave this wine no hope. RIP. Bummer.

After trying several bottles I am very disappointed. They all seem more or less oxidized, dull fruit, from shy to non-existing acidity, upleasant alcohol. Surprisingly short-lived and a big let down after tasting only two years ago. Stay clear.

Ruby red, clear with garnet rim. Flowers, paprika, liquorice, spices on the nose. Velvety palate, transparent with fine tannins. Extremely elegant, mature, but not in any way old. Preserved fruits, predominantly cherries, tobacco, nicely integrated oak. Prolonged aftertaste with a pleasant dry ending.

Rich nose, sea, lime and green apples. Full bodied and sharp acidity, good fruit, a little touch of candies. Terrific minerality. Still very young, will undoubtedly evolve nicely for many years. Very good value.

Cork came out in a thousand pieces. Extremely volatile nose. Moist barn and nail (polish) remover right out of the bottle. There are definite signs of oxidation. Not the best bottle I´ve tried from this vintage, some have been excellent, this one´s a bit all over the place. After some time it settles a bit down, showing figs, plums, tobacco. Nicely integrated oak. Really "sweet and sour" this time, a bit of a disappointment. Not ruined, but not showing its best imo. Probable bottle variation, cork issue?

Dark red. Massive fruits: plums, blackcurrant, raspberries. Lively acidic, godd structure. Of course there is a lot of oak, but Muga somehow gets away with it imo. Nice wine, spanish favourite.

Orange rim. Really intense nose, but why the associations towards vintage port?? Dark fruits, mainly plums, some cherries. Spices + pepper. Complex wine, still full of punch acid-wise and tannins are nice providing an excellent backbone. But there must be something wrong here: Fruits seem really sweet and too mature. As it is now it's not holding together. Probably a bad bottle??

It's been a couple of years since I last tried this very promising vintage, and it's finally starting to show some signs of maturity confirming that this is a good cellar investment. Blood red colour, characteristic Musar aromas that fits with my interpretation of 'volatile', 'Bordeaux gone wrong in a good way' sort of fashion. Figs, exotic spices and definitely some chocolate on the nose. Good backbone, smoother tannins than I am able to recall from previous tastings. Fruity enough to follow all the way through, but still young enough to give the impression that this will improve further. If you can't wait there is certainly nothing wrong in trying a bottle now. From here on out it all comes down to one's own preferences. I certainly enjoy this now, but there can't be any doubt that it will improve further during the next ten years or so.

Dark red colour. Pleasantly fruity on the nose, dark plums, cassis and spices. On the palate warm fruit, nicely integrated oak. Alcohol imo a bit too noticable but this actually improves after some aeration. What the wine lacks in elegance, however, is fairly compensated by nice fruitiness. I honestly have trouble spotting the Pinot Noir in this Bordeaux blend and I can't really see what it's doing there at all, but then again I don't know how much Pinot there is compared to Cabernet/ Merlot. Obviously I am more excited about this wine due to total lack of prior experience and expectations, but this isn't at all bad. Would buy again (if in Hungary).

Magnum. Left in the upright position for two days in the cellar prior to opening. Initially unsure about the cork, it comes out in one piece. Surprisingly dark red, slight orange tinge. Immediately after opening there isn't much going on at all, but at least it's not corked. Given some time it gets more expressive: forest ground, plums, smokey wood. Smooth tannic backbone, surprisingly acidic. Very nice indeed but imo still somewhat disappointing given the price and high expectations.

Felt sad as I poured 200 ml of this into a risotto (but then again HEY PRESTO! what a great risotto!), even strictly come dancing on a saturday night can't ruin this one. Superb acidity, minerals, fat mouth. Ripe apples from Hardanger. Crushing the '06-vintage.

Coffee, earth, wooden box, some chocolate on the nose. Dark fruits with spices, maybe some liquorice. Definitely better than bottles tried 2-3 years ago, as they seemed tired and less expressive. There are enough tannins here, but i can't really tell where this one's going?

This one went from "hey, this isn't too bad!" to predictably over-oaked and kind of jammy in about five minutes. Which at all isn't unexpected in any way: it's just been a while since trying this one. Not for me.

Fresh and fruity. No oak. No nonsense. Dark berries, light mouth. Picking up some liquorice. God tannic backbone giving a dry finish. Overall a nice basic wine, obviously lightweight but considering the price excellent value. A perfect "late in the evening"-candidate imo.

(Cuvee de la Saint Martin) Foul-smelling brownly discoloured cork, distal part is ok. Nothing wrong with the content. Still quite light yellow. Plums, peaches, tropical fruits on the nose. Caramels, nuts, good texture. Again, it starts offrather unbalanced with initial fruitiness not lasting through the surprisingly acidic finish. Give it 20 minutes and it settles down harmoniously. Very good again.
