This was drinking perfectly tonight. Silky smooth textures but with solid tannins and backbone. From a magnum.

This was a little thinner than most CDPs I've enjoyed;
a decent bottle although underwhelming for the 2010 vintage

This took a while to open up but blossomed into a lovely CDP

Buttery Cali chardonnay. I'm more partial to the Burgundian style these days, but that doesn't mean i don't appreciate this for a well made Napa style chardonnay.

Classic white Burgundy nose of apples and chalk. Warm on the palate. The last glass was the best. Keep in the cellar for at least another year.

Not as flinty and sparse as other Chablis that I've had. Nose of pineapples, more fruit forward.

i'm not an expert on sauvignon blanc, but this wine brought citrus notes on the nose and was a great match with cheeses and appetizers.

Nice bottle -- tart nose and balanced attack on the palate. Long 30-40 second finish. Worth seeking out.

This did not taste like a CDP tonight. A very soft and easy-to-quaff wine, kind of like a nice blanket. Not much of a nose and not a lot of edge to it.

This is mostly merlot, with about 10% Cab Franc mixed in. I particularly liked the finish on this. Long and complex with 2-3 distinct phases. A bargain for $23.

For $20, I think this is an acceptable entry-level Chablis.

This is a good Cali chardonnay at the $15 price point. Made by the Jackson family of Kendall-Jackson. Loads of apple and pineapple on the nose. Tart, acidic on the palate and finish.

The 2013 vintage of Napa cabernet is so good that even entry level bottles can be excellent with a little cellaring.

This was slightly past peak. Very soft, not a lot of fruit or tannin left. Should have quaffed this a couple of years ago.

Soft, expected more tannins and backbone from this Grenache-Syrah blend from the Rousillon. Certainly quaffable, though.

Cherry jam on the nose. Soft, fleshy, gentle on the palate. 100% Gamay and a great QPR at $11 a bottle.

This is classic Cali Cab. Black fruit and jam on the nose; well-integrated at eight years old. 2012 is a great vintage in Napa.

This tasted more like a merlot to me than a southern Rhone blend. Soft fruit and velvet tones, not the spice and pepper I've come to expect.

I was expecting more here due to the 91 rating from WS and the single vineyard pedigree. Plus it comes wrapped in tissue paper! To me, however, this was like many Cali cabernets at this price point. An everyday drinker but nothing particularly memorable.

This is still young. Loved the cedar, tobacco, and grape jam on the nose. Inky dark. 45-second finish. To fully develop, needs more time on its side in a cool dark place.

Well-aged and ready to drink. Tobacco, licorice on the nose. Medium bodied.

9/12 -- on the second day, this wine was much more integrated. I would advise keeping this in the cellar for at least another year, maybe longer. Upgrading to 93

This is good Chablis and well-priced for a premier cru. But the 2017 Mont de Milieu from the same producer was noticeably better, in my opinion.

Nose of red fruit, licorice. First glass shows tannins. By the last glass in the bottle, the wine is starting to soften. Needs a little more time on its side, in my opinion.

This was nice, nose of apples and chalk. 2016 is widely seen as a tough vintage for white Burgundy.
