Crimson with just a bit of rust appearing at the meniscus. Dried cedar wood on the nose and some wet earth. Lean and restrained on the palate with raspberries and prune. There is a satisfying clean and dry mouthfeel. The finish is short. A junior varsity sprinter who excelled in a competitive race.

Dark Crimson with menthol and glycerol on the nose. Vegetal with lots of mature fruit, blackberries, cherries and even quince. Lots of ETOH on the back palate with a medium long finish. It’s a body builder in a tight T-shirt.

This is my fourth bottle of this wine and my impression has been pretty consistent. I am a fan of Flora Springs and of their Trilogy in particular; however, this years bottling I’ve had trouble warming up to. The nose is quite restrained. On the palate their is a bit of pencil lead, menthol and a bit of a green quality. And the finish is short. I’ve enjoyed so many years of Trilogy, just think this bottling is out of character. Anyone out there that with a similar impression?

So I was looking for something ready to drink for the weekend and I discovered I had six of these and was mortified to discover the reviews that suggested these might be well past peak. Well no so to my palate. The one I opened was an outstanding example of white burgundy. Eager to drink the rest up over the next few months!!

clean with bright acidity and muted citrus notes; my first Forman white after visiting the estate in May. Went for the cabernet; very happy with the Chardonnay!

Startlingly good; as in a wine that exceeded expectations.

I just have to say I had two bottles of this 1.5 format that I received as member of wine club I enrolled in on a visit to Napa. These bottles arrived and sat in my cellar for many years and I offered them up to a charity auction because I did not know what to expect from them and they came with impressive packaging. A friend of mine who knows I love wine showed up and bought them (for a good price) because I had donated them. Well this unnerved me a little but then when we were having dinner at their house with 5 other couples he brought out the two mags and proudly declared the provenance of the botlles. I held my breath as the wine was poured, but to my dismay this was fabulous wine and all agreed. So it has been a while and I cannot offer up a more descriptive note, but suffice it to say that I agree with the ratings others have given this wine.

My only bottle of 1998. Better than expected. Round open nose with still discernable fruit. Complex and satisfying on the palate. Cherry, black rasberry, redcurrant, chocolate, cinnamon, & pain grille in a distinctly mid-bodied wine with nicely balanced tannin. Nice but abbreviated finish

Opened from case still in original wood. Was getting nervous about letting this many bottles go untouched for so long given the other reviews. I should not have been worried. Austere nose with clean mineral, wet stone and light body on the palate. Remained clean and balanced on the midpalate with nice long finish. Excellent chablis while not the best Les Clos has to offer. I suspect it is unlikely to improve much but is likely to remain excellent for some time to come as there were no discernable signs of age.

Light gold in color; enough remaining bubbles. Trace of yeast and honey on the nose. There is white bread and a trace of hazelnut, but it all ends pretty quickly. Drink up; this will not last much longer.

Clear light gold in color. The nose has a bit of suphur. Not much fruit left. The acididty remains. Not undrinkable but I am afraid I waited too long.

Fragrant light cherry nose, warm muddled stewed fruit early with balanced intergated notes of leather, pencil lead and alchohol late. The finish is abbreviated. It was an enjoyable wine with the turkey dinner, but would have expected more for a 1996 Grand Cru.

Light gold to gold in color. Minerals and a hint of lemon on the nose. Ultra clean, crisp, and ripe on the palate. Sustained finish. This really was what I consider to be the essence of gran cru chablis.

Attractive deep crimson in color. Mushrooms and funk on the nose with a hint of sweetness. Ripe cherries, rasberries on the palate with nice fruit given the age of the wine. Long tapered finish. Immensely enjoyable wine and a fine example of a classic burgundy.

Light to medium rose color, bright yeasty nose, crisp and fresh on the palate. Still youthful, but drinking beautifully now. Good long finish. Lovelyl rose!

Drank at friends house. Not impressed; slow to open. Round fragrant nose. Slightly thin with light rasberry and currant notes with a slight green quality. Good structure and moderate tannin. Finish was average. Not a bad wine for the price, but not special.
