Colour: deep gold, bright, clear.
Nose: v full, ripe, opulent, hints of oxidation, peaches, apricots but also good acidity.
Taste: med body, ripe, rounded, peaches, apricots, good acidity to balance fruit, long finish, q fresh, ripe yet dry.
Overall, a v good wine but is this half bottle slightly oxidised?

Consistent with previous bottle. Really well made sangiovese with plenty of structure. Drinkable now with food but plenty of upside here.

Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Tasting #1 (Northside / Montrachet-adjacent) (House of Nanda - Chicago IL): While the 2014 was too advanced, the 2017 and 2018 were quite enticing. Not quite as forthcoming as the best few bottles I've tasted, this shows the old vine density and substance I recall, but seeming slightly shut down. Plenty of apple, lemon and lemon curd, but rather firm and backward right now.

8/27/21, 9:24 AM - Matches my experience. The first bottle I opened last summer was superb, the second this summer a bit muted. I will hold off for the moment, also because l have not had issues with premox with Niellon wines so far.

Tight, impenetrable, inky. The way we know a chianti. Terrible after 8 years. How long must we wait to drink this 2013. A bottle that cost me € 60,= but now already € 100,= for not being drinkable. And oh oh what do we like this shit reading the other comments.

Beautiful but somewhat restrained nose of exotic fruit, ananas, white peach, maracuja and mango. But the palate is out of balance, with a stingy dominant note of citric acid, with a separate Saline streak, shallow and lacking complexity. Not sure it is in a bad phase or already heading downhill. Certainly not up to the pedigree.
  • BNWM commented:

4/19/21, 9:11 AM - Fair point. The 90 was in consideration of the nose, which actually was quite good, but the palate was really way below of what you expect from other vintages of this wine, e.g. 2011 or 2016.

Light red color - looked older than 6 years but I guess that is the '09 vintage. Menthol, nail polish, sour cherry, black cherry on nose. Medium body, medium+ acidity with medium finish - tannins there but very tame with food. Enjoyed this but not a re-buy. Similar flavor profile to nose. 91+/- range.

Decanted for 2 hours before paired with grilled pork-chops. Paired well.
